I have a Ryzen 9 3900X, RTX 3060, 32GB RAM 4 Sticks, running with Latest NVIDIA Drivers, Windows 11 (23H2).
My Motherboard is a MSI MPG X570 GAMING PLUS running MSI BIOS CLICK 5.
I recently wanted to upgrade my Ram from 2100Mhz to 3200Mhz through the BIOS by enabling XMP.
I also noticed my BIOS wasn't updated since 2020. So I downloaded the latest drivers for my Motherboard.
PROBLEM:
Ever since I updated my BIOS to the latest version, whenever my PC needs to RESTART for an update, or if I manually restart or shutdown...on the start up, I get a BLACK SCREEN. But the PC is running (fan ramp up, lights, etc.) However I get a RED CPU DEBUG ERROR LED on my motherboard. To solve this, I have to manually shut off my pc and turn it back on to get into Windows. I have to do this to finish updates and to just genuinely use the PC.
I have no performance issues, no stuttering, and have actually gained FPS improvements with XMP now enabled and Windows 11 Optimizations I have tweaked to crank a few percentages here and there.
I basically can only access my PC after EVERY OTHER reboot. On the 2nd reboot the RED LED DEBUG for CPU goes away. But if I turn off my PC again, it will come back unless I turn it off again.
How can I fix this?
Some troubleshooting stuff I have done but still didn't resolve the Black Screen on every other reboot include:
Removing the CMOS Battery
BIOS USB FLASH w/ a slightly older BIOS but still newer than what I was running.
Removing RAM Sticks and reseeding them. I also tried turning on the PC with 2 RAM (out of my 4) sticks in positions 1 and 3.
Upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 (23H2)
Health Check CMD Prompts (nothing was found that compromised integrity)
Checking the Boot Priority Order. My Windows is installed on a SSD and everything is fine here.
I am now stuck and don't know what to do. Any help would be so much appreciated! Thank you!
