12700k is a very good price at $210 but considering that you’d need quite a beefy, expensive cooler and you’d be stuck on a dead platform, 7700 is equal or better in gaming perf, includes a good stock cooler, and will put you on AM5 which has a much better upgrade prospext
This makes more sense as a 12700k build at a tighter budget https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wXMm34

4070ti upgrade is also available. 6950xt is also an option
the o11 is definitely within budget
it's just if the person wants to trade off preformace for aesthetics if he wants to push the budget
also, is nividia absolute for you?
Part List - Intel Core i7-12700K, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini ATX Mid Tower
I do agree though that this build is a better value for money
if you got without the o11 mini and extend the budget another 100$ or so, a 4080 is possible
Considering the price of a 12700k capable cooler though i would personally go with the 7700 if budget allows. It includes a wraith prism which means you wont need to buy a cooler, and you’re on the AM5 platform (on top of the performance advantage, obviously)
a 7600 + 4080 is possible within 1,700
a 7700 + 4080 would be 1,800 minimum without other sacrifices
@zinc hedge 7700x is 5$ more
Same chip, no cooler
that's stupid
?
why doesn't it come with a cooler?
X sku never comes with cooler
Just like K sku no cooler
Cause it’s an “overclocking” sku
you can totally go 7800x3d + 4070 ti, no?
we're not getting a better Nvidia GPU than the 4070 ti in this budget

@zinc hedge
thoughts?
what's the lifespan of aios?
overkill coolers can be reused in upgrades if they last
Much less than a literal hunk of metal
