its how you compare ram with different speeds/timings or both. 6000 cl30, and 6400 cl32, for example
if they're the same, the performance will be basically identical

Ah I see. I've read in a forum, that AMD indeed has a problem with the 6400 RAM and that a 6000 nearly peforms the same even as a 7200
