#WD My Book is no longer connecting to PC

that should work as long as you can connect the data and power cables to it from your pc
u can try if you know how to or the WD is just shot
Yeah it is not working at all, I will follow a guide on shulking(?) the hard drive and then plug it into my main rig
Do you guys imagine it would use normal data power and data? I know SSDs have some different like patterns but I’m not sure if hdd would be the same
it should be the same, the external mount "circuits" are super bare minimum stuff
i normally buy external enclousures for internal drives when i need them
Ok thank you that is good to know
I really should have purchased a ltt screwdriver by now
lol
i just get those $20-$30 srew driver kits on amazon
you get way more options and tools for way less money
i just need something that fits/works
True true, I have lots of screwdrivers but they are big and clunky, not the best for fine work
Alright I got the drive opened up and connected to my computer but it says “you need to format the drive before you can use it”
I think now I will try plugging it with sata back into its normal computer
Says same thing
I can hear and feel the drive spin now which I think is a good sign, it was not doing that before
here is what the partitions look like
I have room on my SSD and I think it would be good to clone what is currently on the drive to the SSD, would that maybe be a good idea
That way when I am using some free tool from the internet or something if it doesnt work there is still some hope
unless there exists some very reliable tool which should be fine
