@covert epoch Any requirements on open/closed back?
what does that mean
yh i dont want to deal w cable problems
whats better for gaming wired or non wired
i just bought a set and they're fantastic, and half of your budget
Realistically, personal preference
realistically
I was using steelseries arctis pro wireless beforehand and i got fed up with the batteries
id get one that bneed chargiong not batteries
if you buy wireless eventually the batteries will wear out and you'll have to buy a new set again
Oh the steelseries were strange, they didnt use standard batteries like AA or AAA's they were like old phone batteries, so you could charge one on the charging station while you used the other
As I say the DT 770 is good
this is what I had they're on sale at £249
does it havelike sterio and surrond sound
All headphones are stereo, stereo just means left and right channels
the steelseries has virtual 7.1
what that mean
Ah okay
Stereo is standard - all headphones - left and right channels
2.1 is stereo with subwoofer
5.1 is 5 surround speakers with subwoofer
7.1 is 7 surround speakers with subwoofer
but a lot of headsets - apart from a few - are virtual surround
subwoofer usually means a separate speaker that handles bass, but in the case of virtual surround, there isnt a separate speaker
virtual sounds sounds terrible
ok
i just want in games to hear footsteps and being able to tell where they are using audio
bc my headset is shit and i cant tell atm
virtual surround will help with that
so is there a head set that has that or is that rthe speaker thing
the image i sent, is essentially real 5.1, 7.1, 9.1
the reason headsets cant do REAL surround is because it would need 5, 7 or 9 speakers inside the headset
so they use software instead - thus - virtual surround
there are a few REAL surround headsets but they are extremely expensive
how much
That is like a volume controller and probably able to control other settings on the headset too
ahh
so for a reasonable budghet whats a good head set for gaming and good clear audio is it still the one u sent
Always select Stereo in games. Well, at least in competitive games. Those games have build in virtual surround anyway, but on "stereo" you will hear it the clearest. Definitely dont add another "surround" filter via windows or whatever program the headset might come with or any other program. Its all awful lol.
do you have a recommended headset for a reasonable price
I only have wired headphones. I'm not that experienced with wireless. I have a Sony WH1000-XM3 for my phone, but that would be terrible for gaming lol
yh
ios your headset you sent still viable for gaming especially comp games
I heard the HyperX Cloud Alpha is pretty acceptable and has a great battery. Its around $150
they look good to you based of the description
I had the hyper X cloud 2 wired version too, they were great as a gaming headset
