Depends on what you want really
Productivity + Ray tracing or sheer gaming performance
im pretty sure the 7800xt is faster in rastorization. AMD shills will say get the 7800, and nvidia shills will say get the 4070
I have a 7700 xt currently, and I haven't had any issues with it and it provides great performance so I can recommend the 7000 series
have you found any hurdles when it come to using AMD products (driver issues etc) I'm just not very experienced with AMD in general
anyone that says "amd has bad drivers so dont use them" is out of date
got it
just dont want to buy something I find it to be more of a burden than benefit
amd drivers are slightly behind nvidia's, but most gpus have no issue at all
perfect so no like glaring issues
not that i know of
thank you
the thing no one can deny is that Nvidia's 40 series is just straight up worse price to performance for rastorization. they do have better raytracing performance but most people dont use it much
is the loss of DLSS a notable con in buying AMD?
AMD's equivalent, FSR, is pretty decent, but as with rt, they are behind simply because they started later
i dont have much experience with AMD, but i know that theyre killing it for price to performance (compared to nvidia)
For just gaming 7800xt
Other than gaming what softwares are nvidia better for? Like are they very niche use softwares?
nothing. the software is functionally identical afaik
perfect again thanks
This
Only thing is if you plan on wanting crazy raytracing nvidea is minorly better for that
Most likely, if you have to ask then it’s not something you’ll use
