#Planning a major upgrade, if not just a new build

I'm currently planning to do a massive overhaul of my pc, just for context I'm currently running:
Asus Z170-P
I7-7700K
GTX 1060 6GB
(2x8) 16GB DDR4 RAM

Currently planning on upgrading to:
MSI Z790 GAMING PRO WIFI
I9-13900k (Using a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE as cooler)
RTX 3060Ti
(2x32) 64GB DDR5 RAM
(Also I'd be possibly getting a Meshify 2 case in case that affects anything for some reason)

Going to be varied use from gaming to 3D modelling and rendering to just general browsing the internet (kind of a jack of all trades)
If you have any comments from a better part for value or if I'm going overkill it'd be much appreciated

its a new build

#

id say use pcpartpicker for your list

What’s your budget?

#

Also I doubt the peerless assassin could handle the 13900K

bright cosmos
#

youd need a 360mm rad at least

sudden bone
#

Like $70 iirc

Okay

bright cosmos
#

woah wait, dont get a 13900k with a 3060ti

sudden bone
#

What type of games do you play?

civic echo
#

Kinda varies but literally from pixel games to stuff like Cyberpunk, the new Spiderman games etc

massively overpriced cpu for that gpu

But I wouldn’t use nvidia

Maybe a 7800

#

Or 6800

the 7700k is pretty damn beefy, I'd consider tossing another 16GB of DDR4 at that (cheap!!) and maybe just dropping the 3060ti in that

#

or as others have noted the AMD cards being a better value for games

#

hmm do you plan on doing a lot of rendering via CPU?

#

13900k feels kinda unbalanced with a 3060ti

#

ahhh i just checked the list and it seems like you rebalanced it

#

seems fine to me now

Well for rendering yes

#

That makes sense

white hawk
#

a lot of 3d modelling programs and render engines do not play well with AMD

#

or have support at all

Ok well if only for gaming amd is the better option
