nah that’s $AUD
That makes more sense. I thought that was a crazy price for thst card
yeah only about $440 usd haha
If you want to save a few dollars, you could easily go with a 750w power supply
Crucial p5 plus ssd will be a touch cheaper as well
Other than that, pretty solid in my opinion
alright cool thanks! 🙂
This isn’t great, whats your usecase?
How about this? https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/tRmcHG
Just get some white cable extensions
Universal
And keep your current case
@eternal glen this is way better, though you can change the psu for the white version at the same wattage, though you could go for a full amd build
Would cable extensions not be cheaper?
not really, considering australian dollar and market
it also adds an extra point of failure
10-20 aud more for it in white vs 50-100 aud more for extensions
How about this: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/VLXrvj
might as well get the corsair rm850 in white at that point
Costs more plus i think the gf1 is better
not really, considering with the corsair you could swap out the psu without touching the cables, with the thermaltake you would need to redo your cable management anytime the psu would need upgrading
What?
optionally for the corsair you can get their premium individually sleeved cables as well instead of going for extensions
corsair keep their pinouts the same per gen type, most other brands have different pinout s so you can't use the same cable on different model wattages of the same psu
You dont really have to change the psu unless ur getting a 4090, the gf1 can easily handle an xtx
why is it terrible?
what's wrong with it?
curious so I know what i've done wrong
What are you doing with the pc?
Ok so why not get am5?
A much better platform
Plus 7800xt exists
Also just cuz something is better than what you have doesn't mean its worth it
I'm not up to date with all the pc parts my current is a couple years old that was the last time i looked at parts
what would be similar on an nvidia card or nothing?
boy have i got a deal for you https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/806155
grab that, swap PSU with your current one, get new decent b550 board, sell your old build for $600 on marketplace, profit
feel free to grab 5800x3d if you really want high fps in CPU heavy titles, but i’d personally grab a 1440p monitor instead
4070 but not worth it
Wtf is this
techfast ozbargain special
it’s not?
When he can build this?
Yes it is
it’s 888 AUD
how is that shit value
that’s literally less than half price
as i said, swap out psu with the RM he currently has, buy new motherboard. entire build will cost like $1.1k, then he’ll have 2 separate complete PCs
would i not want the i5-13600K 14-Core over the Ryzen 5 7600 6-Core?
he can sell one off. 6600 + 11400f is still $600-700 on marketplace
Why do you need those cores for fam
Cores aren't everything to a cpu
7600 still performs better in games
i don't i'm not saying more cores = better i'm just asking
Similar
Not really better
But it gets less hot
And is cheaper
slightly better
And is on a much better platform
No
7600x is slightly better
7600 would perform the same
they’re the same chip
They are not
it’s like 1-2% difference
not if you have pbo and other mobo OC features on
remember that reviews use AMD stock settings
is the ram you chose rather then the ram i picker better or just cheaper?
Better and cheaper so
and I do want nvidia I have an AMD card at the moment and have had nvidia in the past I've always liked it better. could you throw a build together quickly with an nvidia card or not?
cool
3 reasons why you want nvidia
Then i'll put one in.
Drivers and the software have always been smoother for me never any hiccups, from what i've read and seen online is that nvidia cards are more "reliable" may be a bit more expensive but they have "more features" and a "better experience / peformance".
I don't know too much as I said I've only ever built 2 pc's.
but again I'm no expert just a preference.
Switch out the 7800xt with a 4070 then
It’s gonna perform worse, fyi
An entire tier worse
Also has less vram lmao
Amd drivers are fine
Also what are those better features?
Where is the better performance?
You're literally paying more for less
I'm just saying what I've read and watched online. but that's good to know thank you! also why the fan over the aio?
just asking a bunch of question to learn as I haven't done this in awhile!
Unnecessary
and i have no idea about aio vs cpu fan for cooling because i've never used aio
I mean, LTT had issues
So i wouldnt say it’s as flawless as nvidia’s
One person had issues no way!!
But for the perf difference i’d take it
But mean its bad
3, actually
Also I've heard people having problem with nvidia drivers
Does that mean they are bad?
The experience in general has been worse on AMD
And now they are completely fine
Only slightly, and nvidia drivers definitely arent worth the extra they’re charging
But still doesnt detract from the fact that AMD has slightly worse drivers
Slightly worse doesn't mean they are bad
what pcs do you guys have out of curiosity? they are probs way out of my price range but just yeah just curious
I did not say they are bad. I said they are slightly worse
Really
I have many
I like to buy parts off of marketplace, build PCs, use em for like a month and then sell em
oh cool haha
What’s your budget for the upgrade?
I’ll see what parts i can find off of ozbargain
2k + i can sell my current for whatever this is worth.
Hmmm
Honestly if i were you i’d grab a 4080 and a 1440p 144hz
Or a 4080 and a $600 dell 1st party refurb DWF with 3 year onsite - is what i would say if the DWF didnt sell out just a moment ago
isn't a 4080 like 2k?
1799
so you're saying just keep what I have an upgrade the gpu?
So you’d have to stretch your budget a little, but worth it for DWF goodness. But doesnt matter, deal gone
Yeah
And monitor
11400f is still good enough for the heaviest AAA games at 60fps
And esports titles at 240hz+
You’d be better off buying a monitor and a GPU for now. Look for a CPU upgrade in 2-3 years
my 11400f is running at 100% a lot of the time. I didn't mention I do edit some videos and stuff on sony vegas and its struggles a bit on rendering.
and I was told on another discord my current motherboard is shit
They could be wrong tho only 1 dude said it
11400f on a 4080 are you fucking joking?
You dont have quicksync either
No
Then ur just stupid.
Nope
Clearly
There isnt a law on what should pair with what
If you’re playing at 1440p ultra or 4k high, an 11400f would not limit a 4080
Not in modern titles anyways
Even in 1440p its still a fucking trash pair
Will most likely cause stuttering
? No lmao
Yes*
Why would it cause stuttering
You havent built enough PCs
I've done enough
And you paired a 11400f on a 4080?
3080 with 2600x, so not exactly the same but yeah. No stutters on high res.
Thats completely different
If you’re pushing like 100+fps on 1080p low on cyberpunk, then yeah it’ll stutter
Also he said hes doing light gaming
So idk why ur recommending a 4080
When he can get into a much better platform
And with a gpu thats more than enough
I dont see a CPU cooler mentioned so i grabbed one just in case https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/WKnfyg
Reuse case, storage, and psu
Make sure to get 13600k for quicksync. For an extra $30 an iGPU is worth it.
Although it wouldnt matter too much since you can also use nvenc to render with nvidia
Why lga1700 lmfao
My advice, get the GPU first for now. Use it with your current build, edit and render using nvenc
When 7600 gets the same performance
Not in video editing and render
13600k decimates with its E cores
Are you like just assuming a person's needs?
When did he say he wants to do editing
He just said he wanna do medium gaming
My mans forgot to read the entire chat
What type of editing
And why didn't you say that when i asked you what ur doing with the pc
I doubt that cooler is gonna be enough
13600k is power hungry
Also, fyi, render will always 100% the CPU. A render will take as much resources as it can to complete as fast as it can, and the main resource is CPU. Even with a 64 core threadripper, you’ll see 100% cpu usage on video renders.
Was concerned that case wouldnt fit an AIO but i just looked it up, TD500 is massive
Updated cooler: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/W8xz6D
Wtf is that aio
Evga CLC280. Performs well, but a bit on the noisier side
Is it even better than a ps120
Afaik is a decent aio stock, and is one of the best performers if you change out the fans with better ones
Should be better than a 120 yes
Highly doubt it lmao
Ps120 performs like a lt520
Twas a top performer years ago
Still pretty dece for its price right now
