I have an Alienware Aurora R9 that the customer service told me the motherboard is fried, i want to use the PSU of the AW but i have some questions about the CPU connection?

The red part is a 6 pin conector on the PSU, the White connector is the one that goes to the motherboard, the motherboard is am going to use is MSI MPG X570S Carbon , this motherboard has an 8+4 Pin CPU, how can i would be able to use this power supply?

I read that someone just plug some cable extension and it work fine but i dont know, i think that it would be undervoltage but i dont know

it looks like its just missing 1 power and 1 ground

Do you think i can make the custom cable with no problem?

Yes or it is in the same trace on the motherboard? And also will i need the 4 pin extra connection or is not necessary?

the extra is only used for extreme overclocking

So with my 6 pin cable i am fine?

you should have the first 8 populated

So i should make a custom cable to get the 1 power and 1 ground that is missing

visual creek

yeah, that would be a good idea

#

what you could do is use 2 of the ports on the psu to populate both on the motherbaord
