when I first got into pcs z68 was new, at the time I was young and couldn’t afford to play with it, so here I am now building and modding this system.

The build so far;
-Maximus IV gene-z/gen3 Z68
-i7 3770
-EVGA 1080
-16gb patriot ram
-250gb crucial ssd
-2tb wd black
-Noctua NH-L12S
-EVGA 650W psu
-currently in a Lenovo case

I do plan to make some changes.

-Fractal meshify C mini

-EVGA 1000W

-storage may change

-may swap to x79 eventually

pc is running very well, and handling starfield low at 1080.

will continue to update this as it progresses, not a lot of people interested in Z68/Z77 anymore

its even a 1080 ti lmao

#

i’d max get a 1050 ti for the 3770

#

u got a god damn cooler, the cpu is not even overclockable and ur using a z chipset

It’s a random assortment of cheap parts I’ve gotten I barely have $250 in it

#

I would like to put a 3770k in and play with oc alittle

The cpu and mobo are to be replaced at some point, if either of you got offered an $80 1080ti I’m fairly sure you wouldn’t be turning. That down, I like the older stuff sorry 🤷‍♂️ every build these days is just the same soulless Ryzen stuff over and over

I really love the motherboard I have and struggle to find matx boards I really like but Evga z370 is pretty attractive

#

I’ve got my eyes on a mobo cpu combo but not ready to jump yet, Evga z370 with an i5 8600k for about $200

I love the board I have I kinda wanna get a 3770k for $20 and mess with oc

#

The system performs excellent in every thing I throw at it aside from starfield it will stutter from time to time but averages 40+ fps

Im using a 1070 with a 3770 in my second, portable rig. Works perfectly fine for halo lan parties

I love it, but am making some changes this week, i may go Ryzen

I'd kill to get a 1080 Ti for $80.

#

But I agree that the 3770 is a little too weak for a card that powerful.

#

But other than that, I'd say that's pretty dope.

I am switching the motherboard tho, after a rampage v edition 10

Nice.

#

I hope that it'll work well for you.

Hopefully, I wanted more pcie lanes, ddr4 and I still like older hardware, I do plan to oc a bit with two 1080tis since most games I play support sli and I’m an idiot that loves multi gpu setups
