#Aio seemingly works but cpu overheats after a minute

Ive built my pc roughly 1.5 years ago and haven‘t had any issues so far. Today I was playing some games until my frames dropped dramatically and everything was stuttering so hard I couldn‘t even open the task manager.
Restarted my pc and got a bios warning that my cpu (i7 12700f) is overheating but the aio (arctic liquid 280) fans were just blowing out really cold air. Checked temps and turns out my cpu was at 98 degrees celsius. Turned my pc off and checked the screws that connect the aio head to the cpu and even pushed them together but temps still went up like crazy so i assume theres no gap and the thermal paste should still be fine. I guess my aio is broken or something and I guess the pump either isn‘t working properly or theres a huge airbubble in there but I can hear the pump running and the aio is oriented properly and the pc hasn‘t been moved.

Anyone know what the issue could be and/or how to fix it?
It‘s really strange how there seems to be zero heat transfer between the aio head and the radiator.
