what this chart is saying is basically, almost every ssd will perform the same + or - about 30 MB/s
up until you get into the top 5 on the market.
the p5800x is an intel optane drive. they are the only drives to use 3d xpoint which i am pretty sure operates like 3d vcache on the new cpus but basically on an ssd and it's older. it is discontinued now, but basically they all have much higher relative random speeds, but intel is awful at pricing things. the drives dont cost that much to make, and pricing it at $3000 is insane
the 800gb version is the most efficient drive. followed by the 1.6tb version
but the p1600x is older im p sure, and it is much more affordable. it comes at the cost of capacity for super fast data.
obviously this isnt practical for a cold storage or user data drive. for your videos and games.
since the capacity is only 58 / 118 gb
but for a boot drive, where random read and write speeds matter the most for starting up the pc, and for launching applications and general OS snappiness, an intel optane drive could be considered.
the 58gb drive might be too small for reasons that have not really been explained to me
but the 118 gb drive should be enough for the OS and the launchers
theoretically, they should be almost twice as fast as most of the ssds that people are still using today, like the 990 pro or the t700

the reason the price hike is there is cause they basically charge more for gen 5 effiency per tb of storage. which is a little unfair since the capacity isnt priced in before that "effiency" so you end up getting kind of double charged for the capacity but its whatever.
this is cause the 2tb 990 pro performs the same for $150
so if you bought two 990 pros you would basically have a t700 for $300
if the t700 was $300, there would be almost no reason to not buy anything else.
but it's not, it's like $500
so the $200 is literally for a higher potential of greater max storage
so like mem max but for non volatile storage
which is kind of not worth it for some
its also the gen 5 speed so its nice that the drive can use the 5x4 speed of the slot, even if you dont use it. but it'll age well too.
