I am in the final stages of assembling my first pc. I have got all the parts in and such. I have all the wires plugged in and such. I got to turn the PC on and everything starts up but the graphics card which is a Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB Video Card. I know that it is only the graphics card, because all of the other fans spin up. I have tried mixing and matching which of the 4 pcie/CPU power supply ports with my 2 pcie cords and the 2 ports on the graphics card, none of which have worked. So if this is a super obvious easy to fix please do call me out for it. any help with issue would be greatly apricated.

Time for trouble shooting 👍

What would happen if the psu didn’t provide enough wattage? Could that inhibit the gpu’s ability to power on initially

Probably not

#

Most likely it would just shut down the pc when the gpu is under load, e.g gaming

#

and draws power over the maximum OCP

Does it boot if you use the igpu?

# random frost Does it boot if you use the igpu?

Due to my inexpereince, when I attempted to boot it on the igpu, I did not remove the GPU card, there fore from my understanding the IGPU was deactivated when I attempted to boot it so do not have a conclusive answer on that currently. I will attempt that once I am done with school today. in about 4 hours.

Turns that my schools It department got it working the here was the solution
Got the system going! Turns out that on this specfic motherboard, if you have 2 DIMMS they need to be installed in slots 2 and 4 (and not 1 and 3, which would actually be logical). Also, there is a 30-40 second wait while the system board goes through its start-up sequence, which displays nothing on the screen during that time. It'll feel like nothing is happening, but just give it half a minute or so and it should come to life.
