#How to prevent screen size fingerprinting on firefox android
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
For blocking it reading the screen size, i would highly advise against this as it will likely break website scaling on mobile and cause some really wacky shit
For everything else, no clue
It's not really as much of a concern as you think it is
Every device is unique in it's own way, going through the effort to block nitpicky telemetry like that isn't worth the trouble it'll likely cause you down the road
As little as you want to hear it, your phone even being connected to a cell tower is pinging your location and can be yoinked by people smart enough
Personally wouldn't care much more than to do that
Going farther is just a waste of time and way too nitpicky at the end of the day
imo, not really
reducing a device fingerprint alone isn't enough to cover your tracks
A fingerprint may be unique, but it can also vastly differ from time to time and isn't 100% concrete "this is this person" type shit like you think it is
If you really care to not get traced whatsoever, mac spoof + vpn + private browsing
Kinda varies from device to device, some may require root, some not
also depends on if your on wifi or not
That one leads back to your IMEI and sim card which is concrete proof to it being you
VPN is what covers that
A lot of shit like this is things you'll never need to worry about unless you plan on doing some crazy illegal shit and getting tracked by the police
Depends on what all is done on the network and how much said network logs shit, also will depend on whether or not you're using a vpn or not to avoid traffic sniffing (not 100% concrete, and in some scenarios, can make you seem suspicious, but works)
When actually connecting to a network, what matters is the actual device identifiers, not your browser related shit
the device name itself isn't the most important part, the important shit are things you'd primarily find within build.prop which is what kinda defines what device it is, android ver, etc.. and reports it to the system, the system then sends that to the network
the most that you can do without potentially fucking your OS is just mac spoof, non-persist randomization is "kinda" enough, but to someone smart enough and with enough time, they'd still be able to pick your device out of the list
Not without causing issues for yourself
Like i said already, a lot of this extra knitpicky shit is kinda unnecessary
just graphineOS is kinda fine on its own, from that point forward just regular internet safety practices
That's all up to you and how well you make it easy to track yourself
It's not terribly hard to create accounts under different aliases and not let people figure out other accounts, etc..
Same here

Personally i also use proton, they've also passed many no-log audits so ye, gucci to use them
tf is tutanota
today i learned a thing
no clue though, personally if i end up switching email providers from gmail (god that's gonna fucking suck when the day comes) it'll be to proton considering i already pay for vpn plus
The problem comes from the past 13 years worth of accounts with websites that i've created under the same email
Lots of which, i'd likely have to change manually thanks to 2fa

A friend of mine swears by mullvad but i've never personally looked into it much
never touched k9 so no clue
When you consdier proton as a company already, chances are low
Personally i don't really care too much into the whole privacy thing further than installing GraphineOS to escape google's bullshit
i mean i wouldn't go that far with it personally, but you do you xd
adaway works wonders
if you have root, that is
https://adaway.org/ if you have magisk, you can use the hosts file for it
Personally i prefer just using the hosts file, it's local and i can add shit to it in an instant (and i don't have to worry about potentially shit dns performance)
hosts file + 1.1.1.1 for dns
hosts file is a set of network rules for that machine, dns kinda just does the same shit but on the network side
dns gets a little confusing to describe xd
Honestly no clue, never heard of anyone getting banned for using it at least
I can recommend Youtube reVanced for this
revanced is really nice, just a pain to build unless they provide builds for it now
Because it has the familiar youtube interface. It modifies the APK
well I haven't been banned
take that for what it's worth
Ye revanced uses microG to log in, and then it's kinda just a massive overhaul of the youtube app
ip-based
Yeah that's definitely IP-based, welcome to the modern web
vpn would be the only escape, if you wanna swap mirrors after every small little thing you do
Importantly, unless you’re some kind of activist, part of an actively targeted marginalized group or public person of some kind, the extreme privacy protection measures are likely wasted efforts.
If you are an activist or something, confining your organizing to a burner device completely separate from your personal use is the only surefire way to protect yourself
