Pretty much the title. We got new wifi today and it's significantly slower on my pc but my families other devices are all just as fast or faster. On the old wifi I would get 90.3 download and 18.1 upload whereas now I'm getting 26.5 download and 6.47 upload. But on my phone I get 218.6 download and 135.9 upload? Is there a way to fix my wifi on my pc being slower?

Do you have an ethernet port?
Or is it an impossible task go get a cable from either the router or a switch to your pc?
The router is in my parents room down the hallway, I can see if they'd let me run an ethernet cable to my pc but I don't think they would tbh
Hmm and what motherboard or wifi card are you using?
I just talked to my dad and he said we can look into using an ethernet cable
How do I know if my pc has a port for it?
Umm can you take a picture of your IO?
Or tell me which motherboard then i can google the specs either works
I think this is it?
My pc is a prebuilt since it's my first one I didn't want to risk messing up a more expensive one
Does it say what version you have as well? Maybe you can try updating your bios version but make sure to research thzt your cpu and ram are still supported then
I think that’s it on the right? Like that square one
Yes that's it
Make sure if you buy an ethernet cable that you check which type, i'd recommend a cat6 one so you won't bottleneck it with your cable
Would this one or one like be good? I think it's cat6 but idk cause the other stuff it says
As far as my knowledge goes that should be more then fine
You'll need to check if it's long enough because idk the distance from your router to your pc but this one is rated for then 10Gbps so that's more then plenty
Awesome, thank you for your help! :)
No problem small hint if you ever not sure about specs in a title a lot of vids on yt explain what each thing means
So if you ever wanna pull the trigger on a component or something watch such a vid so you know what you are buying
That makes sense, thank you :)
