I was using my computer as usual then suddenly my display went black but still I could hear sound of the video so I hard restarted my PC and that was it I couldn't get any display from my PC more precisely my Graphics card onboard GPU works just fine I can't see GPU in device manager either when I tried to install Nvidia driver it told me it couldn't detect compatible hardware

what gpu do you have?
Gtx 580
dose the card have any signs of life?
yeah fans spin
and theres bit of an heat coming out
well it was relatively unused and It didn't cause any problems other than this
it happened so suddenly
i suspect something has died after 13 years, i cant confirm if its the motherboard or the gpu, but if you do have any replacement parts i suspect their is no way of knowing
what cpu?
and onboard GPU works just fine
i3-3240
what is the name of the motherboard
It's a generic one
I couldn't see a brand name on it
did you buy it on amazon?
nope
at a local store
Let me send you the pic of the box
do you still have the box?
Are you using the port on the GPU or on the inbuilt graphics?
the gpu dose not even show up in taskmanager
Yeah it's dead.
I cannot get display output from GPU so I use onboard RN
What Im conerned about if it's the GPU or the mobo
i think it might be old caps on the motherboard that has died or you just the gpu being 13 years old
It sounds like it's either not mounted correctly to the PCIe slot, or the card is dead.
Fans would run and heat would be created by power simply being provided, try re-mounting the card.
I reseated it it worked just fine until few hours ago still no avail
if the gpu is fine it might be the data lines
I cleaned it with a brush aswell
on the mobo or can also be the gpus too
Could definitely be an issue with the board on either the GPU or even the Mboard. When a card is 'dead' it does usually not run at all.
dead gpus can have hundreds of symptoms
Very true.
but they all lead too a dead gpu
when my GPU stopped working rest of the PC kept working as usual
I was watching video I could still hear the video or stop it by clicking space button
thats normal
could it be power supply ?
I have a spare molex to 2x 8pin converter I can test it with that
or no ?
Yeah that would rule out things like a power surge causing it
let me turn off the PC
tbh i think it might just be easier to get some components from this decade
Likely a lot more reliable too.
Well in my country PC parts are overpriced as hell
where do you live?
Azerbaijan
dam
Could be a difficult one. I would suggest importing it in but knowing freight costs I know it would be difficult. You could negotiate with a proxy outside, say in western Europe.
It comes down to how much you're comfortable spending.
Well a 2080 if is worth 6-7 months of monthly wage
If I buy it here or abroad
I tested the PSU
thats not it still the same issue
time is the killer for all tech
Yeah at this point it definitely sounds like a dead GPU.
damn
