i’m not running any games and my cpu temps are like this literally running nothjng esle

idk if it’s because of my temps

wispy shoal
#

It could be, did you remember to enable DOCP in BIOS?

craggy badge

#

Because the lack of DOCP eats a lot of performance on AMD chips

#

And DOCP should be easy enough to enable on B450 mobos

wispy shoal
#

and?

craggy badge
#

here’s the options

#

it’s loading just tell me what to click

wispy shoal
#

I can't see, the video is too blurry

craggy badge
#

sorry my hands were shaking here i’ll remake it

wispy shoal
#

take pictures instead

#

and not in portrait mode

craggy badge
wispy shoal
#

can you not take the pictures in portrait mode?

#

I would like to see the entire screen

craggy badge
#

wait lemme see

wispy shoal
#

And I actually think I found it

craggy badge
#

okay it’s sending

wispy shoal
#

Enable that one

craggy badge
#

it says profile 1 and profile 2

wispy shoal
#

Profile 1

craggy badge
#

okay any other suggestions to get the best performance

wispy shoal
#

Not right now

#

Save and exit

#

see how it performs after that

craggy badge
#

okay yu

#

ty

#

i play on all low settings and i barely get 80-70 fps when looking at big pois on the fortnite map really it’s only heavier games where my pc lacks like siege and fortnite i usually get 200 in creative in game like 60-150 performance mode and in siege i get like 120-144

#

Wha-

#

Just... Game?

#

And see how it performs based on how it used to be?

craggy badge
craggy badge
#

it’s not really higher but it’s more stable

wispy shoal
#

like I said, bad memory configuration eats performance on AMD chips a lot

craggy badge
#

like in bigger poi’s i get stable fps when i used to get anywhere from 60-170

You're going to have to monitor your temperatures under load then

#

which CPU cooler are you using, the stock one?

wispy shoal
#

@craggy badge

craggy badge
#

ryzen 5 3600x stock cololer

#

im getting 78 C just in the lobby

wispy shoal
#

Well the thing is, getting 78 is still acceptable

#

as long as you're not thermal throttling you're good

craggy badge
#

ima monitor over this game and lyk

wispy shoal
#

you can also monitor how your clockspeeds are behaving in game

#

if they start dropping, it means that the CPU is downclocking itself to stay cooler

craggy badge
#

celsius not fps

#

fps is around 160-180 but it drops to like 70-100

wispy shoal
#

Yeah that's already hot enough to start thermal throttling

craggy badge
#

when looking ast big pois or gliding

craggy badge
wispy shoal
#

Better CPU cooler

craggy badge
#

thats usually how it is in lobbies and when im not fighting

wispy shoal
#

Thermal Right Peerless Assassin is a pretty popular one at the moment

#

but realistically you can get away with just DeepCool AG400

craggy badge
#

whats like budget but really good

#

and durable

wispy shoal
#

Basically the two ones that I just mentioned

#

No need to spend too much, definitely do not buy an AIO

wispy shoal
craggy badge
wispy shoal
#

reliability

craggy badge
wispy shoal
#

You want something that's budget and durable, AIOs are neither

craggy badge
#

i was thinking about a 3060

#

or maybe a ryzen 7

wispy shoal
#

That's up to you

#

I don't think there's any need for an upgrade, your PC is still better than most have

#

You should imo buy the Thermal Right Peerless Assassin if you're planning on upgrading your CPU later down the line

#

But DeepCool AG400 will work just fine for your current CPU

craggy badge
#

if i get it u think my fps issues will solve completely

#

cuz my cpu gives me a lot of troubles

wispy shoal
#

Well we haven't looked at the GPU temperatures yet
