#13900k 4090 build
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
for 1440p just grab a 7900xtx imo
And get the 13900k instead of the kf
or a 7800x3d
Or get the 7800x3d because it’s better for gaming
you really dont lose much performance
you'll get almost the same fps
+its apex so
4090 gets bottlenecked by the cpu in those tests at 1440p
and that's in AAA games
think how apex is gonna do
poof

7800x3D and 7900xtx
seems like my 3090ti is choking at 1440p right now. it's using 70-99%
that's why i'm upgrading
Dawg it should be at 100%. That’s how you know it’s the bottleneck. You want the gpu to be the bottleneck
i have to get a new PC anyhow the gpu is dodgy
Regardless, the 7900xtx will be an upgrade. And At 1440p, the cpu matters more, that’s why we recommend the 7800x3D
Oh yeah, that’s bad
no idea what it is too could be vram or something
also this is a no budget build, i even with with a z690 apex to OC and the board shat itself
1.35v at 5ghz
the cpu is also just memeing itself

Wdym
All core or single core
lemme try it in a bit
i have been running stock for a while
is there anyway to make this thing spin faster
All core at 5.1 is insane
That’s a blower fan 3090??
no it's asus strix LC 3090 ti
spent like 6-7 grand on this thing just for it to meme itself to death
i'm actually not happy with this build, since i asked a shop to build it for me as i work too much to have any free time to build it myself
@vague raptor so i should switch to the 7800x3d right?
Dang, how? During the crypto boom?
no i got it for gaming only
i feel like at this point i'm just going to buy a pre build
as long as it works i don't care anymore

No no no. That’s a waste of money
but if it works
but anyways i'm switching to AMD this time for the first time in 15 years

nvidia when people don't pay $1600 for a metal brick
But they do lol
nvidia when people pay $1600 for a flagship card that used to sell for $700 🤑
So if I understand well 13900k cpu will not bottleneck with 4th gen gpus but does with 3rd gen? I was pretty shocked seeing that usage when u spent that much. Makes me wonder if the build I'm doing is correct.
wat
99% is intended
I do not think so. My 4080 gpu is getting bottlenecked by i9 13900k and gpu will be 100% utilization where as i9 13900k will never reach it's utilization peak
That is not okay
its.. fine
thats fair, but its not a bottleneck..
Why would I bottleneck my gpu lol
you should refund it cause its a dumb financial decision
That too
i dont think youre quite aware of how bottlenecks work
if the gpu reaches 100% its fine
you cannot possibly say "13900k is bottlenecking, lemme downgrade to 13700k"
How can that be fine? It's thermals are gonna go through roof because 100% utilization.
Well that's exactly what I'm doing
yes, cause its being used
Choosing compatible parts
if it wasnt 100% that would be a "bottleneck"
Rly? Wtf
Isn't the same thing as this post person described?
seems like my 3090ti is choking at 1440p right now. it's using 70-99%
I will get same issue
I can't believe choking a gpu is normal
If your gpu wasn’t bottlenecked, and your cpu wasn’t bottlenecked, you’d get infinite performances
Because there would be nothing holding it back
not sure if u are playing dumb with me or u just sarcastic rn
im just trying to understand
so many sites say diff things
its fucking dumb
You want your gpu to be the bottleneck
Are you using a bottleneck calculator? Those are a lie
yeah i used at least 5 diff sites bottleneck calculator
some told me i have 12% some 15%
Yeah those are all a lie
lol....idk who to trust where to turn to good information
but i just dont like the idea of gpu being used 100%
its like gonna be thermal throttling
No it’s not lol
My gpu goes to 100% all the time, and it sits at like 65c
Yeah?
isnt gonna be the same for me ?
Faulty gpu
No
oh
omg im so lost idk what to do 😦
although downgrading to i7 13700k idk how ideal that is i mean 3% diff in gaming but like i just wanted to have top cpu
but i regain 250$ thats true

Ok so the bottom line of that video is that it said it depends
Can I find info on the most recent graphs for fps using i9 13900k and 4080 vs i7 13700k and 4080 for PUBG only? thank u so much.
oh u right, cause i saw in video most cpu differences almost no performance gain
I7 13900k?
Yeah lol
For peace of mind for what
not having 100% gpu utilisation
if you want for it to get less hot just undervolt it ffs
Unless your suite of games includes Minecraft or something. Then it might not be 100% utilized
Gpus are designed to be at 100% utilization for hours
but i heard pubg insanely bad optimised
days even
playing at ultra no diff than playing at medium
What res, and fps
1440p
fps idk mby 250+
depends i need to see a chart of fps for that game
if i can find
What monitor do you have
i tell u rn
Asus ROG SWIFT PG278QR 27.0" 2560 x 1440 165 Hz Monitor
Frames per second (FPS) calculation for Intel Core i9-13900K and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds: Season 4 video game.
yeah idk how true this is
500+ fps at medium settings? on a not optimised game?
lol
fps calculator 😭
Better cpu cooler would help a lot
What “better cpu cooler”
A calculator anything for pc building, unless it’s Pcpartpicker calculating price, is probably wrong
OK, i heard i9 13900k might be too hot using my current 360 aio cooler
i got suggested to switch to i7 13700k to save me some money and also have better thermals
🙂
so i think the choice is clear for me
imagine all the kebabs you can buy with $250
It was a 2 fan aio
A three fan would be better for i9
didnt the 7900x3d and 7950x3d have 128mb of vcache and 7800x3d only 96mb? or am i misremembering
oh wait
i guess total for the "gaming" cores on the ryzen 9's would total about 128MB of L3
the 128 is shared, so idk how it would allocate
what cpu are you running, and are you usin ga 240hz monitor?
its literally the same as someone else building it, as quite literally a prebuilt is somoene else building it, lots of prebuilts come broken
the issue is that the ryzen 9 cpus have the cache split on two ccds, and for gaming you can only use one ccd or else the performance hit will be very bad due to latency
yeah, the regular cores would be used for windows tasks (if windows schedules it right)
also 7800x3d is 389 rn
yeah for gaming the 7800x3D is way better
yeah i'm using a 240hz m27qx from gigabyte and i have a 12900k
yeah i'm giving up
i'm buying a new PC
@vague raptor does this list look okay
just worried about ram and the mobo
The ram is solid tbh. 6000 MHz is the sweet spot for amd in my understanding
Like they said tho unless you need the 16 cores the 8 core 7800 x3d will be better for gaming because of the way the vcache is stacked on a single ccd
Yeah don’t go any higher for am5. In the most amd ultimate tech upgrade, they didn’t even manage to hit that
Yea tbh it’s all about silicon lottery but on average 6000MHz is the best option. If all else fails just set it to 5600MHz
i feel like that was before the new updates
Well, idk how long ago the amd ultimate tech upgrade was shot, but it couldn’t have been that long ago
yes it could have tbh
I doubt it was though
why the nzxt aio
i mean i guess i respect it
you like the image
or the features that it haves
but for the price... its pretty bad
- its 240mm
which is not bad its fine
but
you could get a 360mm deepcool lt720 for way less lol
but eh do what you wanna do
apart from that its a fine build!
Honestly if more brands like deep cool, EK, and artic focused a tad bit more on aesthetics I don’t think nzxt would even survive in the aio Market really
I mean maybe but they’d Defo have to move away from the asetek pumps and to actually stand out
Arctic* 🤓
yeah but i just realized that's the tz5k and not the tz5nr, tz5k isn't amd expo ready
yeah purely aesthetic
wait so if i get the 7800 it's more fps? honestly i just want apex to run smooth like butter
true}
the deepcool lt720 is a really good aesthetics + price / performance aio tho
like isnt it 110 dollars
cheap asf for its power and aesthetics at least in my opinion
