2k USD is about the budget. maybe like $2200 MAX

oh ok

#

why the 2 ssds'?

dry totem
#

one gen 5 for speed and a gen 4 for lower cost

maiden moss
#

oh ok

#

damn gen 5 is expensive

dry totem
#

gen 4 will probably be boot and then use gen 5 for games

maiden moss
#

ive only really used low endparts

maiden moss
dry totem
#

what do you mean

maiden moss
#

that was like 2014 stuff

#

you dont need a seperate ssd for boot drive

dry totem
#

no i get that by boot i mean the main drive

#

where all the day to day programs will be installed and then ill point steam at the gen 5

#

im not going to raid them

maiden moss
#

oh ok

#

im just saying you dont rly need seperate drives

dry totem
#

I know that. But i want to take advantage of gen 5 but dont want to pay even more for a larger one.

maiden moss
#

oh ok

#

other than that it looks fine ngl

#

you checked dimensions and all that right?

dry totem
#

yeah cooler says it will fit from the Noctua site. Need to double check the GPU but i have seen videos of the card installed

#

lol a 4090 will fit so should be good

Right now, you need a special mobo for it(which I don’t think that mobo does gen5 m.2) but is a waste of money as you may only save seconds of your life

#

And almost no one can take advantage of the download speed as Wi-Fi that can keep up with gen5 m.2s will cost a fortune

#

Also I would buy a thermalright phantom spirit 120 se instead as it is better than the nhd12l and 50 dollars cheaper

#

Mb your case can’t fit it tho

#

It does, already did the research

#

And your mobo does support gen 5 m.2 drives but I still wouldn’t recommend it

#

Please save yourself some money

maiden moss
#

Yeah i thought that that extra speed wasnt worth him paying 3 times more

I bought a 2 tb gen4 drive for $80, that’s 40 a tb, they are really cheap now

  1. CPU -> there are 0 reasons to waste your money on a 7900 for 419$ when you can get the 7900x for 350$. If you only care about gaming, you could add some more money and grab a 7800x3d for 441$, but the 350$ offer is a bit too good to pass up.
  2. ram -> frequency is king and does make a difference. I assume you need the 64gb instead of 32, so this is better https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-VENGEANCE-6000MHz-Compatible-Computer/dp/B0BLYM2WW7/ref=sr_1_5?crid=3SY1OFL3SZQMO&keywords=64gb%2B6000mhz%2Bexpo&qid=1691783862&s=pc&sprefix=64gb%2B6000mhz%2Bexp%2Ccomputers%2C98&sr=1-5&th=1
  3. storage -> can easily save some money here and go with the 990 pro or SN850x 2gb instead. There's virtually no point in wasting money on a pcie 5 ssd since you're obviously on a budget. This ain't a 4090 build.

That's all the mistakes you made that I saw. The rest are just preferences.
