As the title says, I'm looking at options for putting my gaming rig into my server rack. I have space for a 2U chassis but I would need to adapt my rear IO to either accomodate my full-sized GPU, or get some sort of bracket\extension that would allow me to "extend" the GPU outputs to a low profile, female DP type thing?

basically looking for this, but with female-to-male DP

Pretty much exactly that, yes! I could just cut or print a low profile expansion piece to slot it into the case.. nice find!!

@limpid canopy our friend here found a piece of the puzzle, if you're interested, lol

Your best bet is printing something to fit. I bet there’s several on thingiverse

I use two monitors, so I'd need to extend two of the DP's on my GPU

#

I could also do it the dirty way like Linus did, lol

Well, there’s nothing on thingiverse.

So if you saw the video LTT did recently where he put a gaming rig in a 1U chassis, all he did was mount the GPU elsewhere in the chassis, and run the extensions to the rear IO

#

That's all I was thinking I would do. I have room for 2U in my rack

Yeah you said that in the original post

#

sorry I couldn’t help you more. As I see it, your 2 options are:
1: screw tap that gpu replacement bracket.
2: “freehand” a 3d printed bracket

Yea definitely! You helped tonnes actually... the cable you found is definitely a good route to go... I just have to figure out how I can mount it.

Thanks!
