#My first computer build

oh woops lmao
ur good, its a common mistake
fixed
If you want you can separate your games from your os so you can have more games installed then you would otherwise
the 4080 is a spectacularly awful card for the price
you could spend an extra ~$300 for 40% extra performance (4090), or spend ~300 less for still more performance (7900xtx)
that 4080 is $240 overpriced
well actually $600 overpriced but it wont be last gen msrp for sure
gpu is 350w, cpu is 80w, a 550w woul dbe fine on this pc and a 1000w is severe overkill
is the build just for gaming?
cpu makes me assume yes
mainly for gaming yes, but i do voice editing/ little graphic design here and there
hmm
is the extra performance for graphic design worth $400 extra to you?
4080 isnt bad, just get a 4090 or down grade to a 7900xtx if you wont use rt
i originally had the 4070 ti but i saw the price and said "the 4080 is literally not that far from reach price wise lol
agreed
4070ti will be very good
still
that 4080 is bad
i see you want 1440 240hz so a 4090 actually makes sense
its viable if you want to max out heavier titles at least
i should also say even though i want these high end parts i wont be on 4k that much but it will be nice to have the option
do you want to vertically mount gpu?
id go for 4070ti then
or 4080 if u really want
i mean the xtx is much faster and around the same price tbh
think ill stick to just regular sideways
true
i wish that benchmarks included dlss/fsr
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7B7G34 just something i put together, some stuff could be changed if you wanted but its a baseline
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
as long as its really high end and will last me for sometime. i already have the case lol
monitor wise, if youre arent doing comp gaming then a 4k 144 would make more sense than 1440 240
do you need fans?
does 3440 x 1440 interest you by chance?
i dont have any i just bought the case, i dont think it came with fans
yea then id go for 7900xtx
you will not use ray tracing right?
and do not plan to go 4k
id like to use rtx and go 4k sometimes, i just understand that going that high lowers fps
1440p144hz ultrawide is way better than 4k
go 4080
then a 4090
not for all
or 4090
id say 4090 since ironically its better value
better performance at 4k and ray tracing too
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090, Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower
so if i do go with a 4090 will the parts i have on my list be compatible ?
do you want 28 inch or 32 inch monitor
yes
just changed them
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xtstt7 should be enough fans
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4090
i guess 32? id love a nice size but i dont want to go ultra wide
no need for a 1000w tbh, even 750w gives him overclocking headroom since the transients are under 500w on the 4090
though i wouldnt oppose an 850e
its just for future once he upgrades
id atleast go for 850
850e is only $119 so i guess so
psu is the only component that might be worth futureproofing
- get the msi gaming x trio it has great cooling
it would still be good
just change cpu cooler
yes
im ngl idk to much about good aios
i know corsair makes good ones
i j dont know which specific ones are the best
what about air cooling
so the cooler i had on my list comes with 3 rgb fans
so does the one i listed
its up to you
ive just heard better things about corsair but it shouldnt matter much
ah ok
do you really want an aio? also, what country are you in?
its an ek which is a good company
tbh i dont know what i need and dont need. i live in the us
its more of looks for an aio with that cpu
id def recommend the thermalright peerless assassin/phantom spirit. theyre ~$40-$50, and have basically almost as good cooling performance as an aio, as well as incredible reliability
so they do the same process just cheaper and reliable
yeah, because theres no pump to fail
the only thing that can fail on an air cooler is the fan that can be replaced for like $10
and the dual tower coolers have 2 fans so youd still be fine for temps while waiting for a replacement
aios definitely can look nicer, but its all personal preference. for example, i would much rather have an air cooler because i think i would like the look of mega fin stack sticking off my motherboard. others, would think that looks horrible.
is the founders edition worth getting?
no
unless you want the aesthetic and its within $50 of the original model, then no
pny verto then
anything by asus or msi
product matters, not brand
that "trusted brand" asus made motherboards that were exploding cpus and didnt allow warranty of them either
temporarily
thats fair i forgot about it
then zotac it is then, i just hear bad things about their cards
