#Thoughts for a $1600 PC

The motherboard, cooler, and PSU imo are kind of bare minimum right now. You could afford to upgrade those honestly.
What's the most you're willing to spend? I'm editing your list
Welp, I'm sticking with $1610
@eager solstice https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wsLmfv Try this!
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, GeForce RTX 4070, Zalman S2 ATX Mid Tower
Did this for $5 less than original, and may have even better overall quality to the whole thing
Or, you could upgrade to a Ryzen 9 7900X. It costs less and has more cores and threads, and it's faster, but no 3D V-cashe. You can lose 3D V-cashe though, right?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
7900x isn't really a upgrade
4 more cores, 8 more threads, and +.5 GHz speed isn't an upgrade?
The only con, again, is the absence of 3D V-cashe, but no biggie
Well
Ok maybe
Let me see
No benchmarks
Uses clock speed as a measurement
Has TJMAX of all things as a point for the 7900x
That just means that amd loses a point over any intel cpu
L3 cache baby
Also because cores don't scale in games
I was about to say that
Ok, then the 7800X3D stays
But Nvidia for the gpu because ✨ Geforce Experience✨ and ✨ RTX✨
I have never seen anyone say they like bloatware
BUT I DO
I have a rtx gpu
And the 6650 XT is full of it
Used it twice
This person has brain
Would of rather gotten at 6700xt
Better value
Don't use dlss or rt anyways
3060 12gb
Got it in 2021 couple weeks after launch for msrp
No its not
Well
Just for comparison, not to prove you wrong. In fact, this tells me I am wrong: https://versus.com/en/amd-radeon-rx-6700-xt-vs-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
That site is a load of bunk
Idc
Gpu is a little overkill
Why the fuck does it compare clock speed between 2 different generations
7600 can handle a 4090 at 4k
No shit
I-I'm done
The 3090/4090 were advertised as 8k cards
Ok so anyway...Do this, @eager solstice
I would do this
why p5 plus
Because yes
and worse ram
I have no clue why he added it
the original ram and ssd were good
Tbf ram doesn't really matter for the x3d but it still matters a tiny bit
ehh $1600 id go for 6000 cl30
$99 for it
mp44L is gen4 so 🤷♂️
Could also do this

Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 6800 XT, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
2 gpu?
Why not get 5600 CL28?
vengance ram 😭
Forgot to remove
6000 cl30 is the so called sweet spot for am5
That's more of a ddr4 thing
Ddr5 corsair is fine
And has expo support
Could switch with flarex if you really wanted too
ehh fuck corsair everything except their psu and case 💀
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 6950 XT, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
1 dollar more for the ps120 with 7 heatpipes instead of 6
6950xt better than 4070
can get a substantially better gpu
because games only utilize 8 cores at most
Oh
why not a 7700 and 7900xt tbh
So an octocore cpu is perfect right now?
maybe can fit an xtx
well depends on generation too, a 7600x will outperform a 5700x in gaming and even match it in multicore just because it's smaller amount of cores are faster
A 7600x can easily destroy a 5700x
u could yeah
another example is the intel xeon 2699 is a 22 core 44 thread cpu, more than the 13900k, but loses to a 7700x, an 8 core cpu, in multicore
16 threads
Because it's meant for servers
yea
despite it having less cores
and cache
in that case the ipc improvement and clock speeds make up for it
because of the architecture
yea
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6WKtxs
7700 + 7900xt
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7700, Radeon RX 7900 XT, Fractal Design Focus 2 RGB ATX Mid Tower
though a 5800x3d matches it despite being on older architecture
Thank 3D V-cashe for that
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/2MwmP6/montech-air-903-max-atx-mid-tower-case-air-903-max-b if he can afford to id suggest this case
Also, why does nobody care about the 13900KS?
next gen supposedly will have 128mb of cache on the x3d
Wow
expensive
cuz it's a higher binned 13900k that's overpriced
Yep
7800x3d cheaper than 13900k and is the best gaming cpu
even if you overclock it you need a 420 rad
though if you overclcoked the non ks they would perform similarly
But even LTT didn't use the 13900KS in their pay-to-win build
costs more tho
Yes
id bet the ks would beat an overclcoked 7800x3d if both overclcoked
I know
prolly would
Anyone would bet that
yea just if cost didn't matter and you were an enthusiast overclocker
though in VR the x3d wins no matter what lol
loves the cache too much
and i bet ryzen 8000 if it has 128mb well intel is fucked
no amount of clock speeds and wattage gonna save it
unless it does like 7ghz when overclcoked lol
yes, obviously
Unless the 14900K is insane
you know the 14900k is a higher binned 13900ks?
Does intel not have a competitor to x3d
Because the new "AI Features"
an overclcoked 13900k/ks
So they do just way less efficient
next generation though i doubt they can compete though, finally a true win for amd in gaming performance wise
yea pretty much
Well, AMD was on top at one point
Everyone forgot
isnt 14th gen a refresh?
next gen it'll probably a 7900xtx overclcoked vs 4090 scenario
Yes, but Intel is adding more bells and whistles
where xtx needs to pull nearly 1000 watts to come within 5% of the 4090
isn't it smartest to only oc 8 of the cores on a 13900k if you're optimizing gaming?
or flat out disable them
and just heavily oc the best 8 p cores on the cpu
That's what overclocking should be
why do people go for oc all core then
i bet you'd get more results from that
also hynix A die is a must
Need a Wi Fi Board sadly
I tried home networking and it’s not possible
