Question, is a 360 mil custom loop over kill for a 12900ks? (not over clocked, and im more than willing to UC if a Aio would work) (also the loop is only for the cpu) got the pc custom built from Cyberpower, and welp long story short heating issues due to incompetence and if i can i wanna just get rid of the Custom due to it will be a pain to clean out due to the res not having a easy drain spot...

No matter where you go, you’ll see people debating the amount of cooling you need to make sure your CPU runs fast. With power hungry GPUs and computer cases that go a little too heavy on tempered glass it is impor...
360 mil rad doesnt seem too overkill, but it depends on the use case
AIO will be adequate if you aren't gonna be OCing
kind of a waste for a KS chip but im assuming you just bought the top spec system
i assume it already has a contact frame?
i think? if im thinking of the same thing yes, Im not very Well informed wifh most pc knowledge, But i originally got a ks for the fact i wanted a editing/gaming pc
It works well, but gets too hot 😪
Tbh id rather use AIO due to i have 0 confidence in me being able to swap the liquid in custom without screwing up
KS = binned chip, it’ll overclock better than the K
yeah, and it’ll work fine
Ahhh, ye rip is a waste, Runs like a beauty tho even without OC 🤤
Now i heard something about
That specific one being good for the ks? If not what one would you recommend?
Deepcool LT/LS 720 performs better for around the same price
currently best bang for buck AIO
Deepcool LT720 85.85 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler vs. Deepcool LS720 SE 85.85 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
Damn the arctic cooler has gotten very cheap
I’d go with the arctic cooler tbh it’s slightly cheaper then the Deepcool aio and it has VRM cooling that is if you get the non rgb version @karmic cove
Seen a few reviews of people using it to cool 13900 CPUs just fine
I had one, it kept my 5800x OC’d to 5GHz at a crisp 68c under a 10 minute load
LFii was a good choice ~3 years back maybe but nw there are more options
LS720SE is in fact cheaper than it
They’re still a pretty good choice lol
It would depend what aesthetic he wanted if he wants non rgb the Arctic is like $6 cheaper
Sorry $5 and comes with VRM cooling. It does make a difference in thermals from what has been tested too
You realize that thermals between every chip and pump are different right….with a difference of 6 degrees Celsius that could be the difference between thermal paste applications
And the other is a 3 degree difference. So diminishing returns at best
They perform nearly exactly the same and one has VRM cooling lol
that VRM cooling doesn't really provide any tangible benefit
maybe if you had insufficient VRMs on a hungry chip.. but this isnt the case
Technically speaking it would under extreme circumstances when overclocking
Especially if you have good vrm cooling heatsinks it’ll move air more efficiently between the fins
maybe if you're repeating runs for 30 mins on a power limits removed chip 💀
Gamers nexus did a video on it and helps under circumstances. Cooling up to 20c cooler
which again is not the case considering you can't even utilize the full potential of a KS chip without a custom loop
and the guy wasn't planning on OC
The difference in price between the non rgb is negligible so. It would just depend if he wanted rgb or not I guess
its a 4C difference
turn off the rgb 🤯
Dude 🤦🏼♂️😂 yea and you test again and it tests exactly the same tf with that difference in performance theirs a various number of factors that could have made the thermals differ
Thermal paste spread, room temps. Or transient spikes in voltage
point is you claimed 20C lol
deepcool lt/ls720 as concluded on average by various professional reviewers outperforms the LFii
20c in vrms maybe you should read
ok, pull up the video and timestamp
After the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280 proved to be the best CPU cooler for AMD Ryzen, EK's AIO 360 D-RGB took the crown. Now we're looking at 280 vs. 360mm radiators and the 360 Liquid Freezer II.

Vs the coolers with no vrm cooling it’s a 20c difference in vrm temps

it 5C cooler than with the fan turned off
why cherrypick the CLC when the EK AIO is also there
@karmic cove just go for what you think looks good they’ll all cool your cpu fine
