Not sure what the "snowflake" case is, but assuming its just a variant of the regular Lian Li 011 dynamic, that might be a mistake. That case is meant for 6 to 9 fans builds - mostly watercooling builds - and I think it ships with 0 fans?
Instead of buying a relatively expensive case that requires you to buy a bunch of extra fans and put last-gen hardware in, you could probably use that budget to get a more reasonably priced case that ships with 2-4 fans, and use the money saved to go for a DDR5 platform instead
Thank you for the swift reply! I am going for a used 3070, it costs ~300€ (equates to around 350$) which looked reasonable to me (correct me if i’m wrong) the case is a smaller version of the 011 dynamic in white, i will indeed swap it out with a diffrent case (looking at the corsair airflow series) just to clarify i do want to get a 240 aio in the near future
So the O11 dynamic mini?
O11D MINI adding to the O11 Dynamic series, the classic and mordern looking. A case that would accommodate the maximum number of water-cooling configurations without being oversized. With a modular back panel design, the user has the option to choose from 3 slots/ 5 slots/ 7 slots I/O shield to optimize the case to the configuration of user's ch...
this in white?
Then you have to be carefull since the O11 Dynamic mini only supports SFX and SFX-L PSUs
Atleast to my knowledge
yep
my lord i would have never figured that out, do you have any other white case reccomendations?
you could actually go for a sfx power supply directly from lianli, costs around 115$ for 750W
and just get 5 lian li fans with it for airflow?
the unifans?
yeah
i personally have no experience with the lianli fans, maybe someone else has some personal experience
Which cooler are you planning to use?
my friend had to warranty them 2 times in 2 months but hasn't had an issue for the last ~year i think
for the beginning i want to use the stoch amd cooler i have laying around here and paint the shroud white but for an aio i can't find a concrete answer for which cooler is good at what and is either worth or not worth getting
Okay, you have to keep in mind that the available height for the cpu cooler is farely limited (around 170mm), and as said its mostly used for water cooled builds. There are some low profile air coolers that should fit if needed.
how about this? should be lareger, has 3 fans included, enough space for an aio
i don't plan on upgrading to ddr5, because the performance margins are slim (from my research) but am going for a 7 5700x(accross the board 10-20 fps upgrade for 20$ more)
but i'm wondering if i buy the 240mil rad and the fans to go with it if i need to get a fan controller
which aio are you looking for?
a corsair 240m lemme look up the name rq
the newer corsairs come with a hub
the motherboard needs a 5v argb header tho
you got 1 argb header on the mobo youre planning to buy
would that be enough for the hub?
and the corsair aio i had before needed only one
do you know if the kraken 240 comes with a hub?
i can't find a description on it
it does
this is what i came out with
Sorry, I was driving home
But looks good to me
Maybe someone else can verify because I may be forgetting something
huge thanks for your help!
just one last question, can i plug in the cables that come off of each 3-fan pack into the rgb hub of the aio?
top is 3 fan controller
bottom is rgb hub
otherwise i'll ad a fan splitter cable but i don't know if that works
ill have to look it up for the nzxt, give me a sec
The RGB Controler that comes with the AIO is only meant for the ammount of fans that the aio comes with (240 = 2 Fans and 1 port for pump header i think)
is it safe to run 8 fans through 1 argb header on your mb?
maybe this is what ur thinking of rn but is it possible to plug the wires that come from the individual hubs into eachother (daisy chain) and thenplug that into the aio hub and that into your pc
practically its possible, but the argb header can only give out a maximum amount of current
the individual hubs have a sata to plug into your psu
wait, i think i had the exact same case allready, let me ask a friend of mine how he did it
okay, unluckily he had 2 argb headers and slapped the aio on one and the fan hub on the other
is this thing included with the fans?
tbh, idk the solution, you could try, the worst thing is that the fans rgb cant be controlled, an argb splitter is also possible, but i wouldnt attach to many fans to it but the amount u use should be fine.
The rgb hub supports up to 120 leds, each fan has 8
so that shouldnt be the problem
and the big hub you sent is supposed to support up to 9 4 pin pwm fans which these are
correct, but only 6 of those are rgb and the rest are for normal fans
oh true fuck
i will get a 3 way argb splitter and hook them up individually i think. seems the most reasonable
wait, the hub actually does not need the argb header i think
it just uses sata power and usb header if described correctly on german shit nzxt site
let me draw it down one sec
wtf was i smoking all the time?
tell me
i don't know but i know that nzxt is getting that good shit from somewhere
