#Possible upgrades - gaming/editing

Hey y'all,

Got a decent machine here that I use for gaming and editing. I'm a professional photographer/video guy and also game a bit, got the ''base'' PC 2 years ago and made some small upgrades since (GPU, memory/storage...). I got a BDOD last week while importing some footage into Premiere, it happened in the past and I would assume it's ram. Only happens when importing all 50 clips, but if I go 20/20/20 it's fine. The ERROR was Video Memory Management Internal.

Thinking about some of these little struggles and also the performance with 20k raw files in my Lightroom catalog (lmao) what would be possible upgrades? Would start considering upgrades next year, for now, it's all fine, but can make a list of parts and buy them to build later.

Here is my current setup: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/%40Matheus_Tannus/saved/#view=VtZqdC

Video memory seems like vram might be an issue
However a year is a long time for new parts to come out
What'd your budget be?

Alright
I'd consider a higher wattage power supply and maybe a 7900xt
Or when you're looking in a year a 7800xt
All I can give is advice on the right now so
Yeah
Maybe a new cpu and platform but a 10700 is still fine

Something like this maybe?
Considering the time frame, 14th gen should be out
It shares the same motherboards so could use a 14600k if you want
As for gpu it'll depend what's out by then but the 4070ti is decent
Could try for a 4080 but it'll depend on pricing

Hard to rec amd for productivity, but they probably don't need a 4070ti

#

A 4070 has just as much VRAM and should be adequate

Eh 3070 to 4070 tho

It's fine

#

It sounds like they don't have enough VRAM somehow

8gb is limiting for that workload
You'd want 12 or 16

4070 has 12

Although I really wouldn't expect the issue to come up while importing files

Probably try DDU and reinstalling GPU drivers first
