#vram usage

Context?
On rainbow six siege I seem to be getting about like 250-500 fps and it seems to only be using like 2.5 vram
But in a video I watched that’s using my same specs as a test it’s getting like average 600-800 with 5.7 vram usage
Also for me and the video I watched we were in 1080p and on the max settings
What are your specs & what was the video?
There are a lot of factors here
These are my main specs if that makes a difference: rtx 4090, ryzen 9 7950x, 128 gigs of ram(not exactly sure what type), and I think an 850watt psu
I’ll send the video link too
Why on gods green flat earth are you using those specs on a 1080p monitor
^
And why do you care if it's 300 or 600 fps?
Aren't both good enough?
Same settings to what you are comparing?
Sorry my phone died on me, this is the video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yh6bKcgkm00&t=264s

Recorded with my dedicated RECORDING/STREAMING PC via Capture Card.
This video was directly Captured from my ULTRAWIDE GAMING Monitor OR my OLED 4K HDR GAMING TV.
Resizable Bar / Smart Access Memory is always ON in my vid...
im using a 1080p 360hz monitor mainly for high speed gaming
Yes the settings are the same as used in the video
This is an image of the benchmark that i did which is the same thing that the video did
It seems to vary very differently even though i have the same exact specs basically
It seems be using about 1 gig less vram and about 2 gigs less ram and the cpu load is like 22% less and gpu load is 18% less
My minimun fps is also a lot lower and max fps
could it be that im on a 360hz monitor and he's using a 144hz monitor in the video
Also could it be cause my game is on my second drive and not my first drive?
You are way overthinking this
one is a nvme ssd and the second one is a sata 2.5' ssd
Just because you have the same CPU/GPU does not mean you're going to have identical performance to any other build with the same model
most video with it are higher than mine though
There's a ton of variance in silicon performance, boost clock speeds for AIB GPUs, background processes, etc
im just worried something might be wrong
Do you have discord/chrome/spotify running in the background?
Go to Task Manager > Startup, sort by Status, share a screenshot
Maybe there is one setting difference you have missed even if you think it's the same?
i got the settings the same
i have a few things open right now but most of them i close after it starts up
right now i only got discord/logitechsoftware/steelseriesSoftware/steam open right now
Would hz be a big factor or the drive that it's on?
One very, very important thing to keep in mind here - The insanely diminishing returns of 300+ FPS
- At 60 FPS you're rendering a new frame every 16 ms
- At 480FPS you're rendering a new frame every 2.08 ms
- At 730FPS you're rendering a new frame every 1.36 ms
There is no human being on earth that will notice or benefit from 0.72 milliseconds.
Not to mention that these "benchmarking" youtube channels give zero context as to what's in their build aside from the CPU/GPU and maybe RAM
You are way, way overthinking this
