I am experiencing a D3D11-compatable GPU (Feature Level 11.0, Shader Model 5.0) error on apps (mostly games) and it is preventing me from launching the game and I do not know how to fix it, I have already tried DirectX 11/12, Runtime c++ installs/repairs, uninstalling & reinstalling apps and updating windows and graphics drivers. If there is anything I need to do, please let me know

Specs:

  • 12th Gen Intel Core i5-12600K
  • 32.0 GB of Memory (RAM)
  • 2TB TEAM TM8FP6002T SSD (Windows Boot Drive)
  • Intel UHD Graphics 770 (iGPU)
  • Air Cooling

Using an iGPU for gaming is the worst idea ever, you have such a great pc but no GPU?

normal agate
#

I do not currently have the money for a gpu

#

i am going to get the rx 6700 xt

well

#

D3D11 error is something that has to do with DirectX 11

normal agate
#

I have reinstalled DX11 multiple times

#

Is there something specific I have to do?

queen herald
#

honestky i'm not sure, try lowering the graphics setting first

Do you get this same error across multiple different games?

#

If it’s one game then your system most likely doesn’t meet minimum system requirements for the game.

#

Your integrated graphics isn’t compatible for the needs of the software you are trying to run.

im on the uhd 770

#

it may be blocking the GPU 0 tag on my igpu

#

if so there isnt anything I can do

limber fulcrum
#

UHD only support Directx 12

#

UHD 770*

normal agate
#

so I am uable to run any DX11 apps

limber fulcrum
#

From the look of it that may be true.

#

Honestly I haven’t run anything on a integrated GPU since the early days of AMD APU processors. And that was a pretty crap poor time. So from a professional opinion iGPUs don’t have much flexibility and are typically paired down to the bare minimum of needs for on board graphics.

yeah, im mostly having to play optiomized versions of minecraft and other games

limber fulcrum
#

Most board manufacturer depending on the intended audience for the board don’t implement much more than the minimum specs specified by Intel.

well thanks for your help

I would say start saving up for something that will get you better ability. If you were close I would sell you a 980TI Hybrid for pretty darn cheap. That card will still run most anything made from 2021 and back. But I doubt you live close to Houston.

#

im probably going for the rx 6700 xt

limber fulcrum
#

The 980 would be more a stop gap than the full resolution. But here’s hoping you can save up sooner rather than later.

normal agate
#

yeah im going to get the 6700xt but have the 1060 as a cheap backup

If you can qualify look into Klarna for pay over time at little or no interest. Some stores will have deals with Klarna or Afterpay or other similar services that give you no interest over 6, 8, or even 12 months. But I personally stay away from credit of any kind where possible but there are options out there if you are able to handle the payments.

normal agate
#

I don't use post-pay services because they have caused me nothing but issues previously and I don't want to have an ordeal over a gpu

limber fulcrum

Understandable. I stay away from credit as much as possible. In my youth I made some poor credit decision. Now the only debt I carry is my mortgage. I pay for everything in cash or the rare credit purchase that gets paid off by the end of the month. It’s better this way.

As a 14 year old who doesnt have as much power and control over that stuff I have larger diffuculties resolving problemsd so I try to reduce possable issues before they happen
