(Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17ALC6) Well even if i wanna play minecraft my gpu jumps to 100% and all of its vram is used, is there a way to increase it? Normal RAM is okay, like 2 gigs remain empty so its not a such problem. Ive tried looking into BIOS but there are only options for 0.5G, 1G and 2G

Not sure what you mean by "options for 0.5, 1, 2 etc" whatever that is, set it on the highest

in the bios there should be an option to pass more of your ram over to your igpu

#

i upped the allowed memory on my 5300gs vega 6 igpu from 1gb to 4gb

iGPU should get to use the RAM it needs as long as it's free

#

If you open task manager on the GPU, there should be two fields of memory. One would state 2GB that is reserved only for the iGPU, but there will also be listed another one that I don't remember what is called but is shared memory, memory that both the CPU and iGPU can use.

#

So it's not truly limited to only the 2GB

on any amd vega igpu i would give it 4gb of ram if possible

In bios

#

by the way, is it possible to swap that 8gb memory with 16gb one?

No

#

You see the shared GPU memory there?

#

Your iGPU can use that too

#

The 2 GB is reserved for only the iGPU.

#

The 4,9 GB is shared so the iGPU can use it if it needs to and the CPU doesn't need it more.

ohh ok

The 2 GB? No, I dont think so, I dont remember seeing it.

#

It depends on the Laptop manufacturer I think.

# cloud haven btw

Lenovo says the laptop have 4GB soldered RAM and one memory stick that can be up to 8GB

#

so 12 GB in total

#

So I am guessing you have 4GB + 4GB now

cloud haven
#

no

#

i already have 4+8

queen scroll
#

Oh

cloud haven
#

id like to swap that 8 gigs for 16

#

but i somewhere it says its possible

#

and somewhere its says its not

#

like here

Lenovo says max 8GB, but that is just what they guarantee, or have tested themselves, It might work but I cant promise anything, maybe someone else knows.

#

I dont have any experience with that cruical site.

#

But they manufacture the RAM so...

well i guess i can buy it and then just return it...
