If you've used DDU to uninstall your drivers and fresh installed new ones, sad to say but that gpu is on it's way out

#

If you can, rma if you still have warranty

#

and I did it and still the same issue😢

lunar shore
median notch
# lunar shore so it 100% the gpu fault and not the windows 11 or something?

You could give running DISM and sfc a shot, but i've doubts it'll help based on that artifacting, do the commands in this order from an admin command prompt:

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

sfc /SCANNOW

afterwards, reboot and see if it helped

lunar shore
#

rip still not

#

thanks for trying to help

lunar shore
#

hey can somebody confirm that if I buy a new gpu it will work for sure?

silk geyser
#

Oof it does look pretty bad.

#

When in doubt, reset bios. That's about the only thing you can still try at this point.

#

But it does look like you might need a new graphics card, you should try and see if you can borrow a different graphics card from someone or somewhere. Even if it's like a dusty old one from a prebuilt.

#

If your problems disappear then it pretty much just confirms it.

lunar shore
#

when Im on the browser or smth like that it runs perfectly

near rune
#

I don’t think it’s the gpu

#

But I also don’t know what else it could be

silk geyser
#

It's true, I

#

*I'd expect it to be artifcating and stuff all the time if it was dying

near rune
#

Because if it were the gpu, everything on screen would be strange, not just the characters

silk geyser
#

But I still suspect that the issue might be with the GPU

#

Best way to eliminate it is by trying a different GPU in it

near rune
#

Yup

silk geyser
#

if the problem is still there, we know for sure that the issue is somewhere else

#

But like I said, when in doubt reset bios

near rune
#

Maybe running a VRAM test could reveal something?

silk geyser
#

You'd be surprised by how many problems a single BIOS reset has fixed over the years I've worked with computers

silk geyser
#

But yeah, definitely do not buy a new graphics card before we're sure it actually is the problem

near rune
#

Agreed, don’t send things to the landfill when they don’t need to be

lunar shore
#

k

#

I will do bios reset

silk geyser
#

let us know how it goes

lunar shore
#

@silk geyser didn't help

#

still the same

silk geyser
#

Aww man...

#

Well, I guess you should try a different GPU then

lunar shore
#

@silk geyserbruh idk what is happning I took my brother gtx 1050 ti and put it in and it spinning

#

but it doesn't show up in the task manager

silk geyser
#

Interesting... So it does display an image, but your PC doesn't even recognise it's there?

lunar shore
#

and im pretty sure it works because the ryzen 9 5900x does have integrated graphics

silk geyser
#

Fascinating

lunar shore
#

maybe drivers have smth to do with it?

#

it still on the rtx 2070 super drivers

silk geyser
#

It should still show up in the taskmanager even if you had no driver installed whatsoever

lunar shore
#

im cursed for real wtf

silk geyser
#

Yeah it's pretty weird. What about stuff like the chipset drivers for your motherboard and such, do you have them installed?

lunar shore
#

yep

silk geyser
#

Okay. Is there a different PCI-E port you could try?

lunar shore
#

indeed

#

let me try it

silk geyser
#

I know it's a wild goose chase at this point but it could literally be anything.

#

But I think we've ruled out graphics card at this point.

median notch
# lunar shore but it doesn't show up in the task manager

This is semi-normal for windows, i've always had intermittent issues with the gpu showing in windows task manager.. as long as you've got the display plugged into it and you've got output, it's working (5900x does not have integrated btw)

#

Using DDU to uninstall old drivers and installing fresh for the new gpu in the system should fix wonky issues like that but it is windows so might not

#

Most important thing to test, is whether or not the same issues you were having before are persisting

silk geyser
#

Yeah, I figured Gits already did that. My bad.

median notch
silk geyser
#

Well... Let's just see how it turns out

lunar shore
#

Idk why but the pc just sometimes restart like once in a while

#

Happened with the rtx 2070 super as well

median notch
#

Like all the sudden black screen and it reboots, or wha

lunar shore
#

Yeah just reboots suddenly

median notch
#

Next time it happens, check event viewer > system and look for any error level events, may hint to what's happening..

#

Considering it's actually restarting, and not just cold powering off.. i have vibes it might not be PSU

silk geyser
#

Also, check that all your cables are correctly seated in place.

lunar shore
#

okay now it shows up in the task manager

#

after the drivers

#

lets check csgo again

#

to be honest I hope the problem is with the gpu and not cpu

#

okay I got my answer

#

not even a little artifact

silk geyser
#

So you've installed fresh drivers and you're using a GTX1050Ti in a secondary PCI-E slot, correct?

lunar shore
#

yes indeed

#

I dont think it connected to the PCI-E slot

#

because i had the same problem first when I connected it to the second one

#

the drivers where the problem in this one

silk geyser
#

Yeah

#

You can just plug the RTX back in and it should be fine

lunar shore
#

I will try

#

if it won't work I will know what I need to buy

silk geyser
#

If you had the same problem with GTX1050Ti before doing a fresh driver install, the issue was definitely just driver related.

lunar shore
#

No no

#

The driver in rtx 2070 super were perfect for it

#

I did fresh install for it as well before

silk geyser
#

Well, let's just see how it goes

lunar shore
#

yeah no

#

and right now I heard my gpu doing weird sounds

silk geyser
#

Yeaaaah... That seems to confirm it then

#

You're going to need a new graphics card

lunar shore
#

Yep

#

idk why the gpu did a very weird sound

silk geyser
#

it doesn't really matter, since the graphics card is the cluprit

#

honestly trying to figure out how to fix it is just another can of worms that I wouldn't dig into at this point

#

you could try reflashing the gpu bios but I don't know...

lunar shore
#

hmmm if it was something about the bios the bios reset wouldn't have solved that already

#

but thank you very much for your help

#

you guys helped a lot

silk geyser
#

Uhh no, I was talking about the graphics card's bios

#

two different things

#

but no problem, good luck hunting a new graphics card

lunar shore
#

I didn't even know that was a thing lol

#

But that only means I didn't touch it and I shouldn't

silk geyser
#

Well you can still make some money by putting it up for sale as a broken one.

heavy goblet
#

Are all games like that?

lunar shore
near rune
#

What if some direct x thing got messed up?

silk geyser
#

If that was the case, replacing the graphics card wouldn't have worked.

#

Also, the drivers got uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times here, it's pretty clear that the issue is with the graphics card itself.

near rune
#

🤔

silk geyser
#

There just isn't much else to it. Like unless the 2070 suddenly starts working just fine in a different system, it's clear that the graphics card is broken.

#

I did suggest flashing the vbios, but it seems like Gits isn't comfortable doing it.

near rune
silk geyser
#

@lunar shore

lunar shore
#

?

silk geyser
#

So how about it? Try reflashing the graphics card bios?

lunar shore
#

I can try but I don't know how to do it

silk geyser
#

Can you walk them through the process? @near rune

lunar shore
#

I will be back in like 30 min

#

sry

silk geyser
#

Like there are step by step videos online that will also walk you through the process. Watch one of them. @lunar shore

#

still looks like a driver issue a dying/damaged gpu will have artifacts not glitches
I had a similar problem with halo where my character had strechy lines like your this was fixed by updating drivers

#

you could try older versions aswell
