#I need some cooling and fan advice for my build

Hey, this is the build I am working with right now.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Jtkj8r
I have pretty much decided on most of the stuff here, although any general advice would be appreciated.
However, I do not know that much about cooling. I have included an AIO in my build specs, but I don't know what I need or what is a good value. In addition, I have not specced any fans other than the fans included with the case and I want to know what would be best for that. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would like some fairly clean-looking fans, nothing special, and I would like rgb, but I really don't have a particular style or design that I'm going for, I am going to get the black and white case but really I want the computer cooled properly rather that how it looks

US

either or

the Hyte Y60 has a space for a 360 AIO water cooler on the top

#

but I don't have to go with either

#

ok, will that handle my CPU well?

#

and what about case fans?

There are 3 fans included in the case, 1 on the back and 2 on the bottom. I’d recommend moving them to the side, and i don’t think you’d need to get any more

i'd get a better monitor

#

cheap VA panels have smearing and ghosting issues

#

4080 should also fit your budget with some tweaks

#

@midnight willow are you intent on the hyte y60?

#

it kinda presses up GPUs against the glass and restricts gpu choices

terse topaz

#

eliminates the whole point of the case imo

#

a good chunk of the price is for the riser

#

if you want a nice fishtank i'd just get an h9 flow instead

#

i also put a better monitor

Vertical mounting should always use a pcie slot cover conversion bracket

terse topaz
faint pivot
#

so yes, more than enough

#

probably the most efficient parts of this generation after all 😅

I see

midnight willow
faint pivot
#

i already did

#

4080s that fit the y60 are more expensive

#

but if you really want it you could perhaps bump down to a 7700/7600

midnight willow
#

is it really worth going up to the 4080? for the price jump I mean

faint pivot
#

but regarding your other question, 4080 is 15% faster at 1440p and 25% faster at 4k vs a 4070ti

midnight willow
#

that is what I have been trying to decide

#

I would rather go AMD right now, especially with the higher VRAMs

#

but I would like to have access to DLSS as well as FSR and I would like to turn on ray tracing

faint pivot
#

FSR2 matches DLSS2

midnight willow
#

I play a lot of single player games, where I really want the immersion by having really good graphics

faint pivot
#

IMO, RT is kind of overrated; i'd rather have a smooth, high fps experience over some raytraced lighting that doesnt add much to visual quality

midnight willow
# faint pivot FSR2 matches DLSS2

I know, it's just FSR is software based so I could use DLSS or FSR depending on which the game is designed for, but if I used AMD then I could only use FSR

faint pivot
#

nah

#

DLSS is nvidia-only

#

ah

midnight willow
#

I corrected it

#

yeah I would like to go AMD, but there are just a couple things that I would like to try out that Nvidia is doing

faint pivot
#

$2100 4080 build

#

oops

#

forgot about windows n monitor

midnight willow
#

I thought about going 6800 XT or higher

faint pivot
#

list would also be under 2500 with a 4080

#

but if you dont think you need the extra power i guess thats just money to be saved

midnight willow
#

I am making a major upgrade, just about anything would be a major upgrade right now lol

faint pivot
#

but yeah, 13600kf is not worth getting over the 7600 imo, $100+ more for a negligible performance increase

#

186 vs 180

#

with the 7600 you're also put on a newer chipset

midnight willow
#

that's true

faint pivot
#

but yeah compared to the original list you get around the same performance for ~$300 less with the build above

#

also put in a speedier SSD, better monitor

midnight willow
#

yeah right now I have an i5 2500k and an RX 5500 xt

#

Hyte recommends adding an extra 2 side fans if you air cool, what are some decent RGB fans?

faint pivot
#

on par with arctic p12s and somehow manage to be cheaper
