#Windows font corrupted after installing a dodgy font

Good Day all,

A few days ago I installed some fonts that I ripped from a website. One of these being an Arial font "Arial 2" Upon realising the issue I uninstalled the fonts, though I couldn't find the "Arial 2" font in my installed folder. Though somehow now, when clicking on this in the downloads it's asking me to install. Now, I have noticed when on the web browser my fonts have messed up, and it doesn't matter which typeface is in use. I have posted some screenshots of the issue.

Would I have to do a reinstall of the windows fonts folder, I remember doing this some years back as I had a similar issue, though I am concerned doing this will erase third party fonts.
Thank you in advance.

Even on Ebay it's using some sort of times new roman font, despite the site not being programmed to use this typeface

Trippy looking

what it looks like is that the font you installed either overwrote the arial font on your machine, or it’s taking priority over the original arial font

#

look through your installed fonts and see if you can find it and uninstall it

#

they should be in windows settings

#

if not, you may need to reinstall the arial font family

doing this will indeed erase third party fonts, but that’s the only inbuilt way i believe

#

if you’re not willing to do this however, finding the arial font from a different install of windows and putting it in your fonts folder should also alleviate the issue

I've gone over the Arial fonts in the folder and they all appear fine

#

this font is apparently Arial

I found it @nimble pivot

That does not look like Arial in those images

#

so that Arial font in the app data was mismatched up with some times new roman font

#

it's because I ripped the font from a website and it basically took a load of random letters and put them into a font named Arial
