My previous vs new streaming setup. Pc is still the same but it's going to be upgraded later this year hopefuly sure

calm marlin
#

Good upgrade

finite goblet
# calm marlin Good upgrade

Thanks WowCat I might replace my mouse with a wireless version next month. Would be cool to get rid of this cable linuth

calm marlin
#

I dunno, i dont like wireless

finite goblet
#

My mouse is Glorius Model D and I like it a lot as it fits my huge hand. There is a wireless version of it. If it got identical shape it can be a good choice for me.

#

I tried out Logitech G Pro Wireless a few years ago and I didn't like it because it was way too small and a bit on a heavy side.

finite goblet
#

Gonna build a new pc. This is my old one sure

#

And these are the new parts sure

calm marlin
#

nice

finite goblet
#

Testing things and installing the system before I will put in a case WowCat

finite goblet
#

I've just finished undervolting the 13600K pepoJuice

#

What is very interesting is that this cpu draws about 160W in CinebenchR23 on default. I was expecting 180-190W instead WowCat

#

Max semi-stable undervolting I achieved was -0.115V so I set -0.1V offset and called it a day. Power draw dropped from 160W to 140W and temperature from 85°C to 75°C pepoJuice

#

whats the gpu in the system

finite goblet
#

I have 2070 Super atm which is great for my 1080p setup but I didn't plug it in. At least yet.

#

I'm planning on selling it with my old pc and buying a new Nvidia gpu. I know prices are crazy but I need a Nvidia for their new AV1 Nvenc codec because I like to stream games sure

#

For 1080p 4070 or 4070 Ti would be great but 12 Gb is a bit concerning so I'm considering 4080 - I would upgrade monitors to 1440p next year maybe.

#

With 4080 I would live in peace up to 4-5 years maybe swet

#

Also: I can't finish the build this weakend because I'm waiting for a new pc case that should come on Monday.

finite goblet
#

Damn... way better idle values than my old 4790K lel

#

My room temperature is 27C and cores are just a few degrees warmer with igpu working WowCat

#

With Fortis 5 cooler that is a low budget one WoweeW

#

However... there is only one weird thing abou temps. idle temps are even lower with default settings. Undervolting decreased max temp by 10C but it actually increased min temps by about 3C.

#

Maybe if undervolt is too aggressive, motherboard increases voltage at idle to not crash the system wowcat2

finite goblet
#

So the case is Fractal Meshify 2 Lite. Inside there is:
13600k
Gigabyte Z790 Gaming X
64 Gb DDR5 5600 Mhz CL36
NVMEs:

  1. Kingston KC3000 2 Tb as a system drive,
  2. KC3000 1 Tb for files and videos,
  3. GoodRam PX600 2 Tb for games
    BeQuiet System Power 10 750W
Gpu: 2070 Super MSI Gaming X (for now)
#

PC case fans are going to be upgraded soon to Arctic P14 PWM

#

I might add 1 led strip and set it to white later sure

calm marlin
#

Nice specs, new gpu when ?

finite goblet
#

I had less than 100 fps in Far Cry 5. Now with the same card 140-180 fps WowCat

calm marlin
#

Neat

finite goblet
#

2070 Super is only a few % slower than 3060 Ti.

calm marlin
#

Ik, but its cursed having a 13600k whit a 2070

finite goblet
#

Only in gpu heavy games. In games like Far Cry it's more balanced.

#

Buying 4080 is a bit dumb in my case because 1080p resolution is gonna bottleneck the card. For maxing out 1080p, 4070 Ti would be perfect. However 12 Gb is a bit concerning - not for now but future sure

calm marlin
#

Still cursed

finite goblet
#

Because I stream on Twitch.

#

I really need Nvenc encoder.

#

AV1 Nvenc is awesome!

calm marlin
#

But why not get a capture card and a amd card for camping

#

Gaming

#

Or just use the 2070 for it

finite goblet
#

All of it it's additional cost.

#

Streaming with a single gpu is very comfy.

#

I don't want to have a 2nd card or capture card in the same pc. It would draw more power as well.

#

I'm limited to 750W afterall.

#

Besides I've being using GTX 1070 and 2070 Super for streaming for years and it never dissapointed me. You don't change something that works good.

#

If I was gaming and not streaming I wouldn't mind trying out Intel Arc or AMD. But for video editing and OBS I would rather choose Nvidia even though it's overpriced.

calm marlin
#

Thats fair

finite goblet
#

Prices are not fair though swet

#

I will wait a bit more. High-end cards are slowly dropping prices. A few weeks more and 4070 Ti or 4080 might drop price again by 50-100 Euro maybe if we will be lucky.

#

The cheapest 4080 that cought my attention is about $1400 KEKWLaugh

#

European prices are nuts...

finite goblet
#

I replaced case fans with these.

#

*Non rgb fans pepoJuice

#

Now it's much more silent finally.

finite goblet
#

I didn't hit silicon lottery. CinebenchR23 crashes at 5.4 Ghz sadcat

#

P cores: 5.3 Ghz and E cores: 4.2 Ghz is stable sure

finite goblet
#

Oh nvm... offset sucks anyway. Fixed voltage is better linuth

finite goblet
#

Ah nvm... 5.3 Ghz runs too hot. I can slightly undervolt the cpu at 5.2 only swet It's crazy that some people are able to get 5.5 Ghz at 1.2V. I can't do even 4.4 Ghz at 1.2V swet

cold gyro
#

i love fractal cases tbh

finite goblet
#

Say hello to 4070 Ti linuth

#

My 2070 Super vs 4070 Ti linuth

#

It's unfortunate but I can't mount the holder because 1 middle hole in the mob is plugged by the case. That's the only downside of this case basically lol

#

So I have to buy a different one seperatly wowcat2 Temporary solution: PES_BoiStop FineDog KEKWLaugh

#

I hate that the power plug is so far away to the left. I didn't have this problem with 2070S sadcat

#

Yeah I'm using the forbidden power adapter but I'm going to be fine. It's mostly 4090s that caught fire. Not 4080 or 4070Ti. I plugged the connector correctly and didn't bend the adapter too much.

#

The biggest downside is just the look but I don't have a modular power supply so it is what it is pepoJuice

#

If I would connect cables from the bottom it would look nicer I guess but this would force stronger bend on the adapter and this wouldn't be great.

#

idk..

finite goblet

calm marlin
#

Clean ngl

finite goblet
#

Btw. I tested Nvenc chips. I lose barely 5-10% of performance while streaming at 720p60 and recording upscaled video 1440p60 in the same time. I could record at 4K60fps as well no problem but it takes more space on a drive 🙂

finite goblet
#

It ain't perfect... but it's working. I added 5 more fans to improve airflow while still keeping low rpm sure

finite goblet
#

Using all cores pepoJuice

this thread itself needs it's own movie. I enjoyed the whole story of it haha, nice

finite goblet
#

But chair looks really great for sure and it got more ergo options than the previous one.

#

I didn't just change the desk but renovated the whole room a little bit: new bed, painted walls.

frank fossil
finite goblet
#

Btw I did a mod for a cable holder from IKEA. I made an extension that increased distance from the desk 🙂

#

But... it doesn't mean that I'm good with cable management. I'm not lel

#

Well... at least there are less cables on the floor Kappa

#

And you don't see it anyway.

#

However I kinda improved it a little bit since I took this photo pepoJuice

finite goblet
# solar ridge do look comfy af

Definitelly better than Secretlab's when it comes to lumbar support. I appreciate the lack of racing shape. Straight, flat, simple shape is the best.

#

btw I sold my 2070 Super today for about 210 Euro 🙂

#

It was a great card for 1080p. Gonna miss it actually.

solar ridge
#

that shit is for keeping u in place around corners in cars

#

like

#

why would i want that for an office chair

#

ergochairs better frfr

#

i mean they look nice ig...?

#

yeah i dunno id take ur current chair over any secretlab one

#

screw em bucket seats

woven hamlet
#

Im looking for one like that myself

#

Because my two ikea desks are both super dented

solar ridge
#

ikea moment

woven hamlet
#

Ikr

finite goblet
#

You won't find it as it is a custom desk I ordered at local carpenter and I mounted it to a frame that I found in net :>

solar ridge
#

you could buy an ikea countertop

woven hamlet
#

Yeah

solar ridge
#

those are way more sturdy and decently cost effective

finite goblet
#

It's oak wood, 3x170x80 cm

solar ridge
#

or buy one from home depot

woven hamlet
#

I just want the wood looking one that is also strong

solar ridge
woven hamlet
#

I can finish it myself

#

And stain it

solar ridge
#

check home depot for countertops then

finite goblet
#

My local IKEA doesn't have a desk with these dimensions. It had to be exactly 170 cm long and 80 cm deep

woven hamlet
#

I just need a long desk

#

And preferably wide

solar ridge
finite goblet
#

IKEA got 60 cm deep desks mostly, not 80

solar ridge
#

can confirm

woven hamlet
#

Yeah I have 60 and it’s not enough

solar ridge
#

i think personally 65 depth is enough for me but more depth is nice

finite goblet
#

As I'm using 1080p monitors I wanted to increase the distance from them so 80 cm is perfect for it I think. 90 cm would be great as well.

woven hamlet
#

I have this weird monitor stand that if I have it where I want it it’s uncomfortably close

#

It looks like the one I have

#

U*

solar ridge
woven hamlet
#

Never

#

Im always moving stuff around

solar ridge
#

ah

woven hamlet
#

So I won’t be doing that

solar ridge
#

ok then yeah thats horrible for you then

woven hamlet
#

Yeah

solar ridge
#

well some people build backboards for their desks and mount their monitors to that

woven hamlet
#

Backboards?

#

So you just put something in front of the wall?

finite goblet
#

In Poland walls are made made of bricks/blocks usually so wall mounting is possible but not as simple as drilling some holes in wood probably lel

solar ridge
#

more or less

finite goblet
solar ridge
#

gotta love north american walls

finite goblet
#

I'm not mocking american constructions. All technologies have their own prons and cons. American houses are less durable but they are more fun to mod and provide cables for sure.

woven hamlet
#

The people who lived in my house before me had an unfinished basement but really wanted to sell the house so they just put a ton of plywood up

#

And bleached the whole place white

finite goblet
#

Depends on needs and budget as well 🙂

woven hamlet
#

Yeah

solar ridge
#

just kinda pain when you punch the wall, you win for some reason

#

you'd have to be the hulk to do that in europe

#

my house got hollow ass walls and hollow ass interior doors

finite goblet
#

I heard that americans move from one place to another quite often - not everyone but a lot of them. If you move a few times during your lifetime it makes a lot of sense to build or buy houses that are cheaper, easier and faster to build.

solar ridge
finite goblet
#

Wooden house are not so bad... unless you live in a Florida or smth maybe Kappa

#

You need a stable weather for this stuff probably.

woven hamlet
#

I found a perfect desk and it’s $500

finite goblet
#

Living in Poland is pretty nice from the climat point of view - weather is not too crazy + we don't have earthquakes.

#

However polish summer might be a little bit too hot for 4090 or 13900K sometimes Kappa

#

Especially since AC is not very popular here.

finite goblet
#

I'm dissapointed... only 40 Mb/s upload sadcat

#

Well... 38.58 precisly sure
