I want a new external storage for home for around 1 TB

I have a old Ryzen 7 3700U (16 GB ram, 512 GB SSD)laptop for my collage I will be replacing it with a mac book soon so I dont want to add an 1TB HD into it any time soon I also have a old pc usually running linux for come collage purpose and experiments it pirateLinus

further I have 1 Ipad 4 android phone in the network so should I add a network based storga or shall I conver the old PC (which have over heating issue) but is dam slow in it

Ik having a 1tb hd is simple use it ... BUT BUT BUT what would linus do here ?

XD its not a 100TB its a 1PB server for a whole school data

there is always the raspberry pi or equivalent with an ssd attached to it and turned into a nas option
otherwise, yeah, you could turn your laptop itself into a nas
