Its possible your motherboard only supportd a certian amount of RAM
but i have 8 slots so that would make no sense?
Faulty RAM then?
no i have tested all ram in slots 1 and 2 and they all work
its just if i add them to any other slots i get the black screen
its like there is a setting or something not allowing me to add ram to any other slots
so things that might cause this is either:
- faulty ram
- unsupported by motherboard
- cpu pins bent/ not enough pressure / too much pressure on cpu
- dirty dimm slots
- bad bios
- gg motherboard
clear cmos so the memory retrains.
with my x99a msi gaming pro it only supports 2400mhz if you are populating all the channels - but that is more of a cpu limitation.
Is there a way to clear cmos without removing the battery bcs its under my gpu?
@main vortex
says it has a button on the back panel IO
ight i shut down my pc first right?
yeah
ight will clear cmos now and then add more ram and see if it works
@main vortex Yh I just cleared cmos added my ram and it’s still not giving a post
well then its back to what ExpiredBrownie said 😦
Here is a video these numbers will cycle when I add more ram in. But when I only have ram in slots 1 and 2 the numbers won’t cycle and they will change numbers also
is that how you are installing the memory? (that is from the manual)
I Have tried the quad channel one but it still does not post
which cpu do you have?
yeah gonna say memory incompatibility 😦 can you return it?
yh i can return it
