#800 USD Build
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
youre in the US i assume?
Yeah
I want it to look nice but I don't have an aesthetic.
Uhhh I could always get an antenna or whatever
No big deal
mind going a bit over 800$?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
psu isnt the creme de la creme but it wont die randomly
The cpu won't get bottlenecked?
no its fine
Yeah but the case is kinda big
I have divorced parents so I was wanting something I could somewhat easily transport
hm, actually itx wouldnt be too expensivec
nvm sfx psus are hella expensive
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NjYL6r smth like this maybe
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6700, Cooler Master MasterBox NR200 Mini ITX Desktop
nr200 is on the bigger side of itx cases but its easy to build in and i think you might like that
actually you need a few more fans
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6600 XT, Cooler Master MasterBox NR200 Mini ITX Desktop
Should I just use the stock cooler?
it could work, yea
Is the $20 one really any better?
its better for sure but you dont need one
a 1080 GPU would only be good if you find a banger used deal
isn't the 1080 on par with the 3050 in performance
I see a 1070 founders edition near me for $150
Is that bangin' enough to justify it?
And a 1080 in the same city for $160
not worth
doesnt make the 3050 good though
for 150$ used, you should be seeing 5700s around about
are those new prices?
prices i added
Got your own prices? Check the Cost-Per-Frame here!
uses data from tomshardware
I'm saying that because a 6600 xt new is 230 ish rn
Are NVidias starting to become inferior to AMDs?
AMD is slowly catching up, AMD is only behind in drivers because they lack experience making em
drivers are not bad
not bad, but not as good as Nvidia
I am just totally replacing my old build
based on what
Not even going to bother replacing it
Part List - Intel Core i3-10105F, Thermaltake Versa H18 MicroATX Mini Tower
Then it has like an r9 280x
oh wow
It was like 6-700 dollars because I made it during the great shortage
I'm giving it to my friend for like 150 lol
you alr got a gpu then?
A shit one
oh, 280x
Yeah lol
look on eBay for a used GPU
I wouldn't go anything under a 1080
Rn I game on a laptop with a 5600 H and a 1650
It plays most of my games like the fallouts and PC Building sim
But I want something for MW2
shouldnt a 1650 run mw2 although barely?
oh, could you keep the cooler and just shave off like 10$ for your friend?
dont you have the stock cooler for the i3 anymore?
Do you think $150 is reasonable for that?
with or without gpu?
With
eh, its fine
I don't want that thing lol
150$ isnt bad at all
I wanted to give him a deal
Why don’t u try to negotiate with the dude for the 150 dollar one for like 130 or something
Or attempt to
Cause he might wanna get rid of it quick
he's the one selling it to him
could go for jonsbo c6
idk itx cases
dirt cheap, smaller than most itx cases, matx mobo + atx psu support
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Pcpm4s @boreal rain
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6600 XT, Jonsbo C6 MicroATX Mini Tower
could run stock cooler but it will be louder if thats a concern
although this is matx its smaller than the nr200 (15 liter vs 18 liter)
would that fit a vetroo v5
no
75mm
axp-120 is probably the best cooler you could fit in it
beats all the noctua low profile coolers for like half the price
oh, so it really is small
yep
that looks like a nightmare to cable manage
yes a bit choked but this is marketed for budget builds / lower power cpus
this is basically as compact as it gets for matx
huh, neat
Are 3050s any good?
3050s are equivalent to the 1080 in performance
Yeah but isn't ray-tracing supposed to be like Jesus on roller skates
Also is this good enough
you wont raytrace at all with a 3050
yea its a fine budget drive
That thing is a thermal nightmare
I've watched some reviews and man'
That suffocates your parts
Like I get that's the catch with compact systems, but I'd rather spend some extra money than have a throttling cpu
its not going to throttle
quite literally the best cooler that'll fit in that case and an efficient chip
if you were referring to this
they were using 13400f and an intel stock cooler
slightly hotter chip and significantly worse cooler
Eyyyy I have that case..... im like 90% sure. It was a pain in the ASS to build on. But it had everything I needed.
Yup, it's the one I have. It was a pain in the booty putting fans into the bottom of the case. But everything you are putting in should be far more manageable.
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, Radeon RX 6700 XT, SAMA IM01 MicroATX Mini Tower
What's a good cooler?
Ik it's higher than my initial budget but there is too good of a deal on that 6700XT
^Also case fans
there are cheaper 6700xts tho
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, Radeon RX 6700 XT, SAMA IM01 MicroATX Mini Tower
the X isnt worth the extra; same performance
cheaper mobo, also has wifi + bios flashback
cheaper PSU, higher tier
the cooler is very much overkill; stock cooler is fine, but the best aircooler on the market for $35 is a worthwhile pickup
Any monitor reccomendations to pair with this?
Tbh I'm only used to 1080p 60hz/720p 30hz so most will be an upgrade lol
I'm considering this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/xsmmP6/samsung-t350-240-1920x1080-75-hz-monitor-lf24t350fhnxza
nah man it'd be a waste getting anything less than 144hz with a 6700xt
one of if not the best <240hz 1080p monitors
at a solid price too
Amazing S tier monitor, for an amazing price. Using one myself.
Feel free to look up reviews
Idk I have epilepsy and high refresh rates make me feel nauseas
It may just be me
But I feel like high refresh rates (like my friend's monitor) makes me feel sick
What type of panel is your friends monitor?
no
IPS/VA/TN
i dont see how higher refresh rate makes you nauseous, it should do the opposite really
he probably just has a shitty panel or config
He said VA
it probably just has a lot of smearing and/or ghosting
which would def make me sick 🤢
higher refresh rate alone makes everything smoother, i really cant understand why it'd make someone nauseous
Not a lot of people understand you can play 4K on ultra settings on the 6700 xt also if you’re okay with 45 Fps on some games
I have one and play 4K on all my cinematic games and switch down to 1440p for fps shooters
I call shenanigans on 4k ultra with that fps with only a 6700xt
Look up benchmarking with it
yeah, medium to high settings, not ultra
and alot of the games are like ... apex or something
Ryzen 5 5600X + RX 6700 XT | Tested in 10 Games in 4K

hey, if it can do it constantly, great, I just switched from a 6800xt and I would tank at times at 2k, let alone 4k
This has cyberpunk at 4K ultra 45 fps
Well you Defo have to overclock to max but
It will run 4K just fine
though when you have a 2k or 4k monitor, running games at ultra is not even needed most of the time. The amount of graphical fidelity is mute for the performance hit
I just run the at ultra cause I can I have a 40” display so it simply looks better
Tbh unless you need raytracing imo the 6700 xt is the best budget to performance cars you can buy
to each their own, but do alot of comparison shots of ultra vs high
Killer at 1440p and decent at 4K
Well yea I do get better fps at high vs ultra but I only play 4K ultra in cinematic titles where I don’t need the extra fps
Until new games that become substantially more demanding at 4K are released ima keep my 6700 xt

this is more of a legit benchmarking content creator
I was watching your video and alot of its numbers were way off
I’ve found several videos of the same results with the 6700 xt
I myself have played intense titles at 4K ultra on the 6700 xt at 45ish fps
4k ulta with a stock 6700xt gets around 20-50 fps depending on the game
I’m overclocking lol
then you cant say the 6700xt hits these numbers, because you might have gotten lucky with silicon
always go by stock settings
Not really lol. Almost all of them will overclock to at least 2300-2400mhz which is all that’s needed to run it
The stock settings are 2300 I think
For mine at least
thats simply unture, im just trying to educate you to not make it seem, if someone were to buy this, they will get x & y results, when you are using your own overclocked card in comparison is all
Well I have the cheapest and hottest running 6700 xt aside from the PowerColor and it’ll do it so…
Several benchmarks have shown the card will run 4K fine in most titles
right, thats fantastic, for you ... not everyone will get the same results
if your goal is 30fps 4k gaming on ultra, then sure
I wasn’t making a point that all games are gonna play perfect that’s why I said 30-60 fps lol….
the 6700xt was targeted primairly for 2k gaming to begin with, and its a mid range card
Cool and several benchmarks have show it will play 4K fine so
whats fine for you is not fine for others, thats all im saying. Just provide the info and let the person go off that.
Dude I’m not gonna argue with you 😂 the benchmarks show it will play 4K in general fine
you certainly do seem to be argueing
but getting 20-40 fps for most people is not ... fine
Okay…turn down the graphics settings ease
1440p med-high >>>> 4k low
With $850 ish you can get a build that has a rm750e can’t you?
Oh wait, is it sff?
https://www.microcenter.com/product/666624/powerspec-g516-gaming-pc (if microcenter is possible this is 800, I couldn’t look at the full specs though so idk about Wi-Fi or anything)
And if you’re fine with changing cases too
U can also get a 850 watt psu with that
Part List - Intel Core i3-12100F, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Lian Li O11 Air Mini ATX Mid Tower
i feel like thats old af
There are cheaper 6700xt but i this one on another list and I don’t really understand the differences between amd gpu’s
It’s a tight budget.
i meant the list, not done recently
cause shit isnt in stock or some items r overpriced
Wait what?!
I changed the stuff I know about
I don’t know anything about amd gpu models. I thought they alr had those fans
Ig https://pcpartpicker.com/product/8HBG3C/asrock-radeon-rx-6700-xt-12-gb-challenger-d-video-card-rx6700xt-cld-12g is the better option
its cheaper
A decent amount of games can be played at 4K high to ultra. Not super intensive games but some
People sleep on the 6700 xt but it’s pretty powerful
dmc5 ❤️
played it a bit on my TV, gorgeous game
really underrated
looks great, runs great, plays great
Ride 4, Plague tale requiem, Star Wars Jedi survivor (Maybe depending on various variables) And back 4 blood I’ve all played on 4K ultra averaging 50ish fps. I’ve played a few more at 4K like battle front and other but they’re not very intense games and get 150+ fps whether it’s 4K or not
Tbh tho I personally prefer super high settings on cinematic games and will sacrifice some fps. Then games like cod, csgo, and some others will play close to 100 fps on 4K still playable but most would wanna love down to 1440p for the extra performance bump
i played gow ragnarok on a PS4
would say 60fps is really the minimum
Same, so long as you can hold 60 fps, the game will be able to provide that cinematic experience far better. So many different factors help with that, like FSR, DLSS etc. Which is why when stuff gets benchmarked, most places will do so without them enabled. If you get 50 fps on max settings without anything like that enabled, you know you can easily get 60+ with them turned on.
