Hey guys so I'm trying to put in a second CPU fan on my 7800X3D, did I put it in right?

Turn the one with the yellow corner around

#

Currently both are blowing towards each other which won't result in much.

Just turned the colored one around

#

How's that look?

Wrong rotation, flip the whole fan, not rotate.

#

colored bits should touch the cooler

Yep your good, pic 1 is pulling air in, pic 2 is blowing it out. the rubber is meant to silence vibrations but my guess is that you put it on for looks?

I..... Am genuinely lost here

@fluid cobalt The side with a cage (plastic strips) is for exhaust. The open side is for intake. You want all intake going towards the back of your case. Just oriantate your fans accordingly. 🙂

So yeah, got the fan installed

#

Not seeing too much of a temp difference

If you really want low temps [for overclocking] get an AIO

#

Just remember, an AIO can only cool to the rooms tempature.

ooooff, alright

#

Well, I have a 7800X3D

#

Now that I got this cooler on correctly, it's making a new.... strange noise

record it

#

If the file is too big upload it to google photos/drive and link it

#

If Warship deletes the link just DM me it

To me it sounds normal, just ramping up.

Yeah it just sounds different

#

compared to 1 fan

#

It didn't sound different when I mounted the fan incorrectly lol

#

how it was before, you were creating turbulent airflow.

#

Now it has a path to flow
