The psu that comes in the pc is only 450 W and I want to be able to use a more power hungry card like a gtx 1070 in the machine, are there any thinkstation power supplies from other models that can just drop into the system? I don't want to try to go through the hassle of wiring a different psu if I can help it.

My dell G5 5090's 475W PSU could easily handle a Core i7 9700 pulling 110W and a 3060Ti pulling 210W simultaneously, a 1070 won't consume more than 150W or so, you'll likely be fine with your current one (unless yours has too few PCIe power cables

Yeah it only has 1 6 pin is the issue when most of my cards are 8 pin or 8+6
