#Ethernet drivers not working
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
The system you're working on is pretty old but that's alright, I'm old too.
The term I don't recognize is the c2q though?
Ah yep.
Which OS are you you on?
and what's your connectio to the internet, ethernet?
Way to make me feel extra old, dude :P
Okay so to summarise, win7 fails to play nice with your network drivers?
What's your system like? And is there a reason for running an OS from 10+ years ago?
Okay, that makes sort of sense.
But usually, and almost certainly, win10 supports win7 software
But I'm not sure that in this case you need win10
What are you using for internet connection?
Or rather, trying to use?
Does that router support win7?
Support is a roundabout way of saying "we have drivers for this"
I'm basically asking if the router is old enough to handle win7
I'm guessing you are using your motherboard ethernet for connectivity, so, what's the model name?
the motherboard
alright, I'll look that up
What are you using for internet, onboard lan?
...so why do you have that username, AsusDesk?
I think this me signing out, tired of people outsourcing their commerical issues.
Good luck.
Ok, my bad then, I'll accept that.
What device do you use for networking, ie. what's your router?
It should have its model name printed on it somewhere.
so I guess this is a new issue, pc not connecting to router?
I mean the router is propably newer than your pc by many years
and it might not support win7 drivers
without more info, I'm just guessing here
right
at that point, it's kinda DOA, the drivers don't work and it's not being detected
Which OS are you running?
Win10 upgrade might do it. If not, find yourself a network expansion card and hope that does the trick.
Just make sure the card has drivers for win10
Most cards on sale right now do, of course.
wish I could help more but I'm kinda out of my depth here. You're trying to get networking to work on a 10+ year old system so..
And sorry for my attitude earlier, it's just that.. this channel gets a fair bit of trolls :/
I think your best bet might be an upgrade to win10, and hope it supports the old hardware.
The quickest way would be to just download Cinebench on another pc and copy it with an usb drive to the system you want to run it on.
I do want to clear up something. The router doesn't give a **** about what OS you are using and accessing the Internet was a pretty common thing on WIndows 7 😄
What network adapter is it you want to use? Intel, Realtek, etc?
Also overclocking on some motherboards disables the internet or causes weird issues with pci cards around that time, I had that issue with overclocking
So if it did work before overclocking consider not doing that.
Right! When you change the system baseclock, components like RAM and PCI devices can get wonky....
yeah but internet is your issue and that one is
