This method only works on Windows 10/11 PCs. Please ask for other methods if using a Mac, Linux, or earlier versions of Windows.

  1. Insert an 8GB or higher USB stick into your PC. Format the USB to NTFS before installation. Formatting will ERASE ALL DATA on the USB. (Right click the USB > Format > File System: NTFS > Quick Format > Start.)
  2. Download the Windows MCT (Media Creation Tool) from the link above, titled Create Windows 11 Installation Media.
  3. Run the MCT. Follow the prompts to select your USB flash drive as your media and create the installer.
  4. Once complete, your USB is now ready to install Windows on another PC. Power down that PC. Insert the USB installer. Boot the PC.
    WARNING: When installing Windows on a new PC, ensure only one drive (the drive you want the OS on) is plugged in. Unplug all other drives prior to installing Windows.

  1. Shut the PC down, turn off the PSU and unplug it
  2. Find the Clear CMOS pins on your motherboard, labeled JBAT, CLRCMOS, or CLRTC. (Consult your manual for name and location)
  3. Use a metal screwdriver to touch and hold on both pins for 10 seconds, then remove screwdriver from the pins
  4. Plug in PSU, Turn PSU on, and boot the PC

If you recently installed a new drive and it does not show in File Explorer, perform the following steps:

  1. Right click on the start menu, click Disk Management.
  2. Right click under the black bar new drive labeled 'Unallocated' and select 'New Simple Volume'.
  3. Run through the prompts to initialize the drive disk using GPT (GUID Partition Table).
  4. Continue and finish the prompts specifying the volume size, drive letter, volume name, and perform a quick format using the NTFS file system.
    Firmware-based TPM 2.0 (fTPM/PTT) has been included as standard on all CPUs since Coffee Lake (2017) and Zen+ (2018) without the need for additional hardware.
    Check your motherboard manual for how to enable TPM, or https://premiumbuilds.com/guides/how-to-enable-tpm-for-windows-11/ for more information.
