didnt that just come out
I love these graphs

ong
yeah, but I'd assume it would be in the graphs since you can buy it and Tom's Hardware has released a review of it
tomshardware has not added the 4070 super to their performance data yet
Ah, I see. For reference, is it https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html that you are using as the source for performance data?
“Performance data is from TomsHardware GPU Hierarchy”
... I can't believe I missed that in the images

What's the bread emotes for?
hybrid
if you count posting the link as manual
Ah ok
Its been like
A day
He uses a bot to gather the info
There was some wirrd thing that happened
Thas why i have cool bread role
Uh ops
I programmatically scrape listings from each of the supported vendors, then the price of the listings for each GPU is averaged and lowest price is found (listings that are too low are weeded out, for example if a card is avg selling at $2000, a $100 listing is assumed to be fake or a part or broken). then, that pricing data is put into dataframes and plotted into graphs/graph images that then upload to Imgur. then I post the imgur link here
manual part is that sometimes I have to enter captchas, adjust filtered phrases when the listing data is messy with fake listings, re-run searches sometimes because they spontaneously stop working on some sites for absolutely no reason that any test case could figure out (this could be automated but if I run the searches for a vendor twice in a day, 90% chance I get ratelimited so I have to change VPN servers if I need to rerun searches)
theres a lot of tweaking that I have to do on the fly to make it work so its not as automated as I'd like, but such is life when you're trying to scrape data from retail behemoths like amazon with the same code u use to scrape data from ebay which im pretty sure hasnt actually updated anything in 20 years aside from the design
the scraping itself is pretty straightforward, its just:
construct a URL from the GPU name for the search
use a css selector to find an array of listings
iterate through each element in the array
use a css selector to find title, price, and a "description" (description is usually a subtitle and isn't too important, for some vendors I like to apply the phrase filter to it though because it helps weed out fake listings)
(and the same steps work for just about every single retail site)
and then a lot of filtering listings & cleaning up prices because every region formats it differently

You should have this part done automatically
?
that would break discord tos
and changing the title

I post gallery links through webhook links for people who ask but here itd feel too hands-off for the forum post if they would even set that up for me (which from their perspective would be terrifying because you can't manage webhook permissions)

Ask TomsHardware
supers are out already?
It doesn’t look like Tom’s has updated their charts yet, so we’re probably waiting on that

some graphs are chunkier today because of missing data, was testing a lot of things and got rate limited. the ones affected are I think just AU scorptec and DE ebay.

mostly alright this time around, now supporting about 20 more cards should they have enough listings whenever their prices are scraped, tomorrow im going to try and tackle missing amazon listings (this is a remake of the old project so im trying to get it back up to speed so I can focus on adding new things to my price tracking)

I think my first graphs were around September/October 2022, then they rebranded #1106613567966429224 to a forum thing so thats when I started this thread

7900 GRE when?
what even is 7900 gre anyways is it just a better 7900?
Cut down 7900xt, roughly equivalent to a 4070 Super
oh

GPU Cost-Per-Frame Graphs | Feb. 28th
7900 GRE included in today's graphs (if it was available from the vendor)
also dont even know how I missed yesterday's graphs I guess that entire day slipped away from me

why did you go from uploading the images to imgur links
^
because i had to manually drag and drop each image into discord

and do them like 6 at a time, wait 10 seconds, then do the next 6
otherwise warship would delete them all

Is RTX 3050 6gb on the list?
Its not good enough value to fit on the graph
You think it’s a good upgrade for an optiplex because it doesn’t require external power?
I guess

replaced AU Scorptec with AU PCCaseGear
GPU Cost-Per-Frame Graphs | Mar. 6th
still experimenting with AU vendors to see what yields the best results

I could but I'd feel cheap if I did that
it also adds another point of potential problems, idk how reliable their pricing is but I know how reliable mine are.
the answer being mostly sort of kind of reliable.

Hey

Uhhh…?
I guess Imgur decided to delete every single public gallery on my account
so that's fun
darn
Nooo
im just gonna reupload march 13th here for now, imgur also wont let me create a new image gallery manually so not sure what theyre up to

Agreed

Kind of looking to upgrade my 3060Ti, looks like the 4070s actually costs a little less per frame as the 4070s, it's quite expensive here however and all the used cards with good prices on ebay come from the states when I'm in europe

The dedication
It would mean nothing if not for my lord Pepesalad

4060 Ti better value than 3060 Ti in german amazon lol

nah he just got lazy lmao
also kinda boring to run a program every day and then post the photos manually

and didnt want to keep topping up my vps hosting for the site side of things but also wanted to have the site because it was the only way to possibly recuperate some of that cost (there were affiliate links for GPU listings but I think I made like 6 dollars from that in total lol) and it had a lot of features for actually seeing the listings graphs were generated by
Y’all it’s pepesalad subscription time
Oracle free tier VPS?
So, what your telling me it's my time to use my shitty copy of your project for my ap cs class last year (Sorry) and actually make it good.
yes
mine was around 1 second per GPU but I added a delay so I didn't get cloudflare'd
and varied depending on vendor
USA newegg was like 4 seconds, CA newegg was like 1 second
So fun fact, I was testing it on PCPP one time and i kinda forgot to add the robots.txt...
omg this thread is still alive
Linus is talking about making this for the labs site on wan show rn lol
Except LTTs version will be full of false data
