Every time I come back from school, (only) my middle monitor is covered in vertical lines of green, white, and purple (it fixes itself after a little while). It used to do this, but fixed itself somehow, and for a few months it was fine, but up until a few days ago it started doing this. Anyone know what’s happening or how to fix it?

the processor chip in the monitor is getting lazy / failing - run a screen saver to keep the monitor on or if its still under warranty RMA it. It could last 30 years like that or 30 more seconds - who Knows.

they were originally intended to prevent burn in on CRT monitors
once setup, they will activate automatically whenever your PC goes a set amount of time without receiving any input
in this case, it would be used to just keep your monitor on 24/7, which by extension would also mean keeping the PC on, but it would mean that you don't have to wait for the streaks to clear up every time you sit down

typing "screen saver" into the search bar should bring up the config tool
windows will already have a couple built in that you can just select from a list, but you can search online for new ones if you want to

although, personally i would only consider that a temporary solution
best option is to replace the monitor, whether it be through warranty RMA, or just buying a new one

figured out it only happens when on the 144hz setting (which is annoying, since its a 144hz monitor, but oh well) so i just changed it to 120hz
