Have a Z590, i710700KF, and a SN770.
Have the SSD in the m.2_2 slot as I just figured out the Pcie 4.0 slot doesn't support it without a 11th gen cpu.
Installing OS over a thumbdrive.

tldr, I can only get the boot menu to show the thumbdrive and not the SSD.

Its been a few years since I've installed, but I thought you could just select the storage to install on correct? Feel like I am missing something here if someone can clue me in on why the SSD isnt showing up.

# vivid meadow i see the ssd right there

Yep, got it to show up, but doesn't show up in boot priority, IIRC aren't you supposed to be able to move it up? or do I start the system and transfer the OS after I get into windows?

its not recommended to transfer your os from another computer, clean install is always the best

Yep, this is a clean install on the thumb drive, all that happens is the thumbdrive shows up in the bootmenu. Did I do something wrong then? lmao

unless it's an usb..

I swear I remember being able to transfer the OS from the USB to the SSD.

That's how you install your win10, yes

Alright. guess I just skipped a step lol

#

Will update if this solves.

launch the install from the usb, install to the ssd, unplug usb, you should be good to go from there

Solved: I'm dumb, need to actually run the install. lmao
