After shutting down my laptop yesterday, this morning I turned it back on, went through the bootsplash but it’s not entering into windows desktop/lock screen.

Just giving me black screen and cursor’s constantly spinning and resetting it’s position to the middle of the screen.

I tried pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete/Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open task manager but it couldn’t even bring up the menu.
Anyone know how to fix it?

try getting the pc into startup recovery by turning it off when it gets to the windows loading screen and see if it helps any

#

worst comes to worst you may need a reinstall

you could try getting to advanced startup options(not sure if windows 10 supports this) by pressing f8 on boot and trying safe mode

#

and yes you should be able to pull your files that way

in the recovery did it give you advanced repair options?

#

you should be able to get a command prompt from there

#

and you can use this command to start up to advanced startup options: ```
shutdown /r /o /f /t 00

#

from there try safe mode and see if it still works

#

if so you can start looking into drivers and other things that may have broken it

#

you can also choose safe mode with networking in order to get a network connection
