#Weird flaky almost ice-like residue in watercooling reservoir

so it's been about 10 months since I flushed and completely redid my son's PC's watercooling. To refill I used simply the corsair XL8 clear coolant because they wont warranty if you dont. IT's been working fine, cool and fans almost never spin. Just noticed in the last few days some weird residue on the water. Could be paint flaking off the (black) fittings? Those are now 5 years old so it's possible but its not black. I'll post some pics. It's ONLY in the reservoir I don't see anything in the GPU or CPU blocks and can't really see any in the tubes.
Anyone have a great idea what it might be and if it's a big issue or a simple flush/refill

I would just do a flush. 10 months is appropriate timing for a clean

Consider using Mayhems Blitz (Part 2, not part 1, that's for pre-cleaning radiators) to do a deep clean, then replace with your normal fluid
