#super weird cpu behaviour ive had for 2 years

have you monitor cpu usage too?
yes
no correlation
as it also can happen under 100% load
fine right now but i will have to wait
wdym no correlation
high temps means high usage on cpu
it doenst for me
are you saying your cpu defy physic?
yes
aight
ill wait for someone smarter
yes.
see
usage is stable ish
and temps arnt
started prime95 and its instantly up
according to hwinfo the bios is underreporting cpu power
vrms are not a problem running at max 60*c
draws 85 watts
when there is these temp spikes the voltage decreases
wattage goes up a tiny amount
tdie has no spikes
iod is the same no spikes
its only the main cpu sensor
cpu die average also doesnt spike
power does seem to spike with no trend in cpu usage
cpu temp above
i dont see anything wrong with that, you get a spike in activity and your temps spike and then go back to normal
mine are the same
It kind of sounds to me like a sensor issue
Either that or maybe a problem with your cooler it’s self
the spikes are huge tho
idk what is wrong
cause your graph is so tiny, its only from the 55 to 67 degree range
that graph goes from 46 to 95
change it to 0-100 degrees and it will look much smaller
yeah that graph looks alot more normal than the other one
the problem is that this isnt a stock coole
and on stock it ran way too hot
like 95 very quickly
tdie doesnt have spikes like that
tdie isnt a core
I wouldn’t call 8-10 degree jumps “huge”. I agree with Rekt, there’s nothing wrong with the info you’re showing.
I bet if you watched per-core usage during those spikes, you’d see one or two cores spike up in usage above the apparent ‘idle’ state of the overall cpu usage
the problem i was having is that it would happen at 100% load
cant seem to recreate it rn
I’m pretty certain that your cpu is behaving completely fine, and you’re just misinterpreting charts
what cpu is it even?
3600
be quiet dark rock 4
it says it can handle 220 watts
my 3600 is almost throttling under full load
" Almost throttling" is not a scientific word
its either throttling or not , check with HWInfo 64.
on the stock cooler it idled in the 60 - 80 range
i turned boosting off and bought a new cooler like 6 months later
it would just throttle instantly on stock cooler with boosting on
this setting in the Sensor screen on hwinfo64 tells you if its throttling or not
it has come on a few times when it spiked to 96
How is your case flow?
it will be under 100% load at steady 83*c then spike to 96
4000d airflow with 5 fans 3 intake 2 exhaust
2 exhaust next to cpu cooler
you double checked the exhausts? , just to verify the direction, the cross is on the inside?
i tried blowing a 4000 rpm 120mm fan directly into the cpu cooler fan from outside the case with the side panel off and it made 0 difference
im not a idiot
Well, replaced the Cooling paste?
like 10 times
remount too
i could just rest the cooler on the cpu and put pressure on by hand and it wouldnt do anything to help
mount isnt the problem
the TDP for a be quiet! Dark Rock 4 is designed for 200 Watt 🤔
yes and it can handle a i7
i have other higher tdp chips on smaller coolers which run cooler
yeah I'm mostly inclined to say a bad binned chip
ryzen 3600 for 5 bucks? 🤔
its not worth more
you could get easily more out of it
its awful
don't forget one mans trash is another mans treasure
You could use it as a keychain? 😄
it would sit at like 85 under load then spike to 95
is this the I defy physics thread?
same pc i had problems with my ssd overheating
it would run at 120*c
that was solved though
i had to switch it off it would just go into thermal runaway
i also half believe its this shit board
b550 aorus garbage
how many fans do you have
