#Ethernet cuts out

My Ethernet randomly cuts out. The globe symbol appears on the bottom right of the task bar. If I unplug and replug it, it comes back just fine. As a kinda janky fix, I have a Ethernet cable with an on/off switch. I think the network drivers are up to date, but I will check later.

I believe it’s an intel gigabit network chip

Any help?

Did it always do this sort of thing? If not, then maybe someone stepped on the cable and messed it or the port up. Maybe try switching cables.

yeah first thing i would try is check cables, look likes the cable or connection might have a "wackelkontakt" 😄

And I don’t remember if it’s always been like this.

try shorter cable connected to something. like i said its most likely a cable problem somewhere or the connection has a contact problem

Actually, come to think of it, I added a network switch and it stopped working

I do have a shorter one connected from the switch to the pc, so i guess I’ll change that one out

it could possibly be the port on the switch, the other computers I plugged in never had an issue with network to my knowledge
