#Horrible stutters while gaming

Eyo!

The warranty for my GPU is about to run out, so I should troubleshoot where my stutters are coming from. I've always experienced stutters while gaming, on high settings, on low settings, on various nvidia settings, on various displays with this pc so it must be a hardware issue with my PC I feel like. It's been around since I created this build.

For the Diablo IV early access open beta + the open beta weekends I got several bluescreens that blamed my GPU. In the diablo discord I got responses like "I highly doubt it's your gpu, run a memory test" which I did and it went fine. No issues. Might be completely unrelated to this issue.

I get these stutters in all games I play. World of Warcraft, Valorant, CSGO, BF2042, Diablo... Here's one of the many clips I've managed to capture it on and it is not acceptable. I play competitive games at a fairly high level, so as you can see in this clip, it can cost me rounds to experience this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nak_AGwwgXQ

What else can it be? I have contacted the store I bought my GPU from and they have agreed to take it in to take a look at it. What else do you guys suggest I can troubleshoot? I am thinking to send this gpu in for testing and order a new GPU to test with in the meanwhile and return it if they return my old one.

what steps have u tried for troubleshooting? eg. os/driver updates, reinstalls, ddu, resetting oc, memory (ram) tests, gpu/cpu stress tests, etc

Currently tidying up my files so I can do a clean install.

#

What stress test should I try to throw at the CPU and GPU?

TPM issues sucks 😦

chatgpt:

TPM event id 14 is related to the Trusted Platform Module (TPM), which is a hardware component that is used to secure sensitive data on a computer. Event id 14 indicates that the TPM firmware has detected a configuration change that could potentially compromise the security of the system. Here are some steps you can take to fix the issue:

1. Check the TPM status: Press Windows key + R, type tpm.msc and hit Enter. This will open the TPM management console. Check if the TPM is active and running. If it is not active, you may need to enable it in your computer's BIOS settings.

2. Clear the TPM: Clearing the TPM will reset it to its default settings and remove any configuration changes that may have caused the event id 14 issue. To do this, open the TPM management console and click on "Clear TPM" under the Actions menu.

3. Update TPM firmware: Check if there is a firmware update available for your TPM. You can check this on the manufacturer's website or through Windows Update. If there is an update available, download and install it.

4. Check for malware: Sometimes, malware can cause issues with the TPM. Scan your computer for malware using a reputable antivirus software.

5. Check system integrity: Use the System File Checker tool to check if there are any corrupted system files. To do this, open a Command Prompt as an administrator and type "sfc /scannow" and hit Enter.

6. Check for system updates: Ensure that your operating system is up to date with the latest security patches and updates.

7. Check with the manufacturer: If the issue persists, you may need to contact your computer manufacturer or TPM manufacturer for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional guidance or support to help resolve the issue.

thats a faulty gpu imo

#

could also be a cpu issue, thats harder to confirm, but if still in warranty give it a shot

# strong canyon yeah rma your gpu

They have sent me anti-static bag and how to return it + they agreed to take a look at it. Meanwhile I have ordered a 4070 ti. I guess I'll quickly figure out if I have stutters once the new GPU is here.. If they're still here I guess they'll return my GPU and I'll return the new one...

#

sounds like a good option

inland flax
#

I sure hope the GPU is the issue notLike

strong canyon
#

if not, since you tested your ram, only really the cpu is left

inland flax
#

If not I guess I have to consider the CPU options.. Considering going team blue again sad

nah

inland flax
#

Don't think so?

strong canyon
#

if your mb is faulty your games crashing or whole pc

#

not stutter, never have seen a faulty mb do that

#

thats most likely gpu or less likely cpu

#

and since you tried multiple different drivers, we can safely say its not a driver issue

inland flax
#

That makes sense, yeah HMM

strong canyon
#

i want to see chatgpt say stuff like that

Hah, don't give @turbid surge too much shit. It's a bad response, I agree. But I'm sure their intention were good

So, update...

#

I swapped the GPU, still same issue NotLikeThis

#

Can it be Windows? Should I swap to W11 Pro? Shouldn't mean anything in my case... no? Can it be my M.2 SSD? Are we placing our bets on the CPU now? It will be so expensive to replace...

#

Tomorrow I will try a clean install with the old GPU and return the new one... But I'm so tired of this now... Can faulty DP cables be the cause? Can it be monitor related? HMM

If anything, audio is the most stable thing in my system. Everything can freeze, discord still works 😅

use windows startup and disable as much as possible

#

disable all services on "Msconfig" -> Services tab , click on hide all microsoft services

#

and uncheck all services you do not need.

Steam might be one you want to keep
