#Is CPU or GPU Video Encoding better?

So Medal.tv lets you clip your game highlights and it also lets you choose whether you want to use your CPU or GPU for video encoding. A quick 3 second google research told me "CPU encoding is superior to GPU encoding" - should I use my CPU?

Im asking because apparently CS:GO is more CPU intensive. I have an i5-12600KF and an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT.

When I use medal currently, my FPS drop from around 300 to 175.

Nothing i do changes the fps i end up having. I changed res, lowered my settings, switched from cpu to gpu, changed recording settings its always the same fps lmao

Realistically if you have nvidia card, NVENC is the best choice

#

but seeing you have AMD, I'm sure they have similar thing to NVENC too

#

That probably your best option
