#game performance "very low" out of a sudden

From one day to the next I have noticed that I get significantly less FPS in games with just 40% GPU Usage. I have started to look for the problem but have not found it yet.
I have tried with the help of DDU to completely remove my graphics drivers and reinstall them. I have checked the temperatures and tried synthetic benchmarks but I still have good results in these synthetic benchmarks. I also checked my system for viruses with malwarebytes.

What should i try next? Do any of you have an idea what could be the cause?

SPECS:
Ryzen 9 7950X3D (Air Cooled with Dark Rock Pro 4)
Zotac RTX 3070
G.Skill Ripjaws S5 6000 CL30
1TB M.2 SSD

is there anything you've changed yesterday?

#

any configurations?

#

does this only happen with 1 game or in any games?

#

@void fulcrum

void fulcrum
#

nothing changed, within all games i have lower fps than previous and micro lags

#

e.g. valorant from 800 to 300 with dips down to 150

supple nacelle
#

did you do an update (on a driver/windows)?

supple nacelle
void fulcrum
#

i updated windows, but it occurred like one day after the update

#

Did you try to reinstall graphics driver?

#

maybe you have raytracing enabled?

void fulcrum
#

yeah, uninstalled with ddu and reinstalled with the regular offline installer of nvidia

supple nacelle
#

did you try an older/more stable gpu driver?

void fulcrum
#

not yet, might try that later

supple nacelle
#

do that, updated drivers can really suck

#

thats why i dont trust amd anymore with driver updates and dont update

supple nacelle
#

and bc of that you didnt notice there was a gpu update

#

which causes those troubles

#

if you have that enabled, you will want to deactivate it

void fulcrum
#

might be actually the problem, newest game ready driver is from 2 days ago

#

if not i‘ll swap to my old 5700xt to check if its actually the gpu

supple nacelle
#

well then, try to downgrade your gpu driver to the version before the latest came out

void fulcrum
#

seems like the issue is not the latest driver, got the previous version and still got the same problem

Yeah might want to check something can you run crystaldiskmark

#

And check the rand4k speeds?

#

Windows has been messing with random lookup speeds for some time and really messing up some systems

void fulcrum
#

rand4k is 300MB/s, shouldnt cause lags ig but isnt that good either

#

might need to change m.2 in future but its so much pain with my build xd i need to remove the cpu cooler in order to get the m.2 heatsink off x)

#

and the rest?

#

which ssd you got?

void fulcrum
#

its a SanDisk Ultra 3D NVMe

#

wanted to get a samsung one but they didnt find it in their storage 💀

#

manufactured by kioxia so should be fine though
