#Visible scan lines on monitor

Since yesterday I noticed there were scan lines visible on my monitor. I didn't think much of it but the issue persisted after I turned off my monitor for ~20h. Can't figure out if it's my monitor or GPU causing the issue since I do not have a second display at my desposal. Ran a stress test on my GPU which did not worsen the issue, replugged my cables and resetted my monitor. Both of which did not help either.

Does this mean I have to get a new display or GPU?

would be nice if you would include a picture of the problem

I wonder if the scanlines would show up in a screenshot, at least then you know it's the gpu and not the monitor. But they might not.

even if its the gpu, does it show on screenshot?

My intuition says it would but I'm not sure

gpu graphic errors usually do show up on a screenshot, but not always. Now.. it would help if you would show what you mean by scanline 😄

#

and also maybe you have a tv where you can plug it in ? idk

#

or have integrated graphics in your cpu, so you can rule out gpu error

It is a horizontal grid pattern of LEDs that are less bright/discolored. It is equally visible everywhere.

#

I also noticed if I plug out the DC adapter and plug it back in the edges of my screen flicker faintly

i think its the display in that case, don't get to replacing , may even be damaged cables

#

please reduce screen brightness and take a pic on your phone close to where you see the line

this would help determining the issue
